Obliterated Fallujah & "The ’horrid case’ against my country is that the people either support mass murder or really don’t care enough to change it"

From an exchange between two Blog sites, Fountainhead and Another Day in the Empire:

An email received yesterday:

"You expect to sell your art work to Americans while you publish the most incredible lies. I just bet you are an American too. Re: your article about Fallujah published in Anwaar Hussain?s hate blog.

How do you know that the photos by Dhar (sic) Jamail weren’t taken in the aftermath of the war? Where did you get them? Where exactly did Dhar Jamail get them? Unless you can answer these questions, don’t state your horrid case about your own country as if it were fact.

In fact, this "article" was a blog entry posted here on March 18 and reposted on March 19 on Anwaar Hussain’s blog, Fountainhead.

I was unfamiliar with Mr. Hussain’s blog until this email arrived. "Anwaar Hussain is not afraid to speak out on issues facing the muslim world at large. He is an ex-F-16 fighter pilot from Pakistan Air Force. A Masters in Defense and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, he now resides in United Arab Emirates," notes a short bio. I presume Hussain is a Muslim and since he lives in the Middle East he has more right to write about Iraq than either the woman who sent the above email or I. But then according to this ill-informed (and brainwashed) American, Hussain is running a "hate blog" and I post lies.

As for the images posted on Dahr Jamail’s blog, here is an explanation. It took about thirty seconds to track down the following with a Google search: "Two weeks ago [late November, 2004] someone was allowed into Fallujah by the military to help bury bodies. They were allowed to take photographs of 75 bodies, in order to show pictures to relatives so that they might be identified before they were buried," writes Jamail on his blog.

These pictures are from a book of photos. They are being circulated publicly around small villages near Fallujah where many refugees are staying.

The man who took them was only allowed to take photos and bury bodies in one small area of Fallujah. He was not allowed to visit anywhere else. Keep in mind there are at least 1,925 other bodies that were not allowed to be seen.

Information with some of the photos is from those identified by family members already. One of the family members who was looking for dead relatives, shared these photos which were taken from that book.

Al Jazeera had nothing to do with the images.

Unfortunately, millions of Americans are unable to accept the fact their government is engaged in massive war crimes in Iraq. It does not matter what evidence is presented?they continue to believe what the Bush Ministry of Lies and Propaganda tells them. If not for brave souls such as Jamail, I would not be able to "state [my] horrid case about [my] own country as if it were fact." Fox News sure the hell does not report the truth about what is really happening "on the ground" in Iraq.

"Weary of the overall failure of the US media to accurately report on the realities of the war in Iraq for the Iraqi people and US soldiers, Dahr Jamail went to Iraq to report on the war himself," writes Dahr Jamail’s Iraq Dispatches.

His dispatches were quickly recognized as an important media resource and he is now writing for the Inter Press Service, The NewStandard and many other outlets. His reports have also been published with The Nation, The Sunday Herald and Islam Online, to name just a few. Dahr’s dispatches and hard news stories have been translated into Polish, German, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Indonesian, French, Chinese and Arabic. On the radio, Dahr is a special correspondent for Flashpoints and reports for the BBC, Democracy Now!, and numerous other stations around the globe.

Dahr has spent a total of 8 months in occupied Iraq as one of only a few independent US journalists in the country. Dahr uses the DahrJamailIraq.com website and his popular mailing list to disseminate his dispatches.

In fact, the stupidity of the woman quoted in the email above verges on criminal. "The evil of the Nazi ideology did not come out of nowhere. The brutalization of thought and the lack of moral inhibitions had a history," said German chancellor Gerard Schroder recently. "One thing is clear: The Nazi ideology was willed by people and carried out by people."

Bush was "re-elected" and what is going on in Iraq - from the murder of more than 100,000 people to the rape and torture gulag - is a fact "willed by people and carried out by people" through their so-called representatives.

Indeed, as this blog has argued for years now, the "horrid case" against my country is that the people either support mass murder or really don’t care enough to change it. No more evidence than the election last November is required. "

Fallujah: A "Horrid" Case of a Crime Against Humanity March 21, 2005

Dr. Hafidh al-Dulaimi, the head of the Commission for the Compensation of Fallujah citizens has reported the following destruction that has been inflicted on Fallujah as a result of the American attack on it:

- 7000 totally destroyed, or nearly totally destroyed, homes in all districts of Fallujah.
- 8400 stores, workshops, clinics, warehouses, etc.. destroyed.
- 65 mosques and religious sanctuaries have been either totally demolished and leveled with the ground or whose minarets and inner halls have been demolished.
- 59 kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and technical colleges have been destroyed.
- 13 government buildings have been leveled.
- Destruction of the two electricity substations, the three water purification plants, the two railroad stations and heavy damages to the sewage and rain drainage subsystems throughout the city.
- The total destruction of a bridge to the West of the city.
- The death of 100,000 domestic and wild animals due to chemical and/or gaseous munitions.
- The burning and destruction of four libraries that housed hundreds perhaps thousands of ancient Islamic manuscripts and books.
- The targeted destruction (which appears to be intentional) of the historical nearby site at Saqlawia and the castle of Abu al-Abbas al-Safah.
Dr. al-Dulaimi has asked all relevant international organization to visit and document the destruction to Fallujah.........

"Many media outlets self-censored their reporting on the Iraq invasion because of concerns about public reaction to graphic images and content, according to a survey of more than 200 journalists by American University’s School of Communications.

... One of the most significant findings was "the amount of editing that went into content after it was gathered but before it was published," the study stated. Of those who reported from Iraq, 15% said that on one or more occasions their organizations edited material for publication and they did not believe the final version accurately represented the story (my italics). Of those involved in war coverage who were in newsrooms and not in Iraq, 20% said material was edited for reasons other than basic style and length.

Not many people on earth desire or want ot kill another human, (disregarding jihadist cut throats)
But I find it very odd you complain about an email that you claim is full of lies.
yet you spew out the 100,000 dead Iraqi lie. See link for reality, then get a grip on it.

Oh yes, I see clearly now, there may have been only 8000 civilan deaths, well done for pointing that out! Now I can sleep peacefully knowing that only as many as a few thousand innocent cvilians died. God Bless America!

I do not think a person sincerely questioning, trying to find the truth is guilty of "murder." The simple truth is hard to find. What is it with the word "horrid" that you all highlight? It’s a good word. A little melodramatic, but still just a word. A case against anybody, any country without proof is "horrid" in my opinion. When I read some of these blogs, I just can’t help but question.

So what we have here are bloggers who leave their Email addresses and ask for comments. Apparently if you question, if you make strong statements in expressing your opinions, your Email will be posted around to various sites without your permission, perhaps to reap some unkind comments. Why? For the pleasure of the blogger? If these bloggers only want people to agree with them, they should be honest and say so. It’s really a shame, though. If Mr. Hussain and Mr. Nimmo, bloggers both, had asked me, I would have said fine. Go ahead and post it. Mr. Nimmo also saw fit to post my blog without informing me. Freedom of speech, difference of opinion, since when has this become something to exploit? If you look at Mr. Hussains blog, you will see polite requests, i.e. "may I please" use your Email on my blog? I did not receive that courtesy. Again why? I do admit I have sent many angry, questioning Emails to Mr. Hussain in the past. Perhaps he just went "ballistic." That I can understand. I do it myself occasionally...

So many of the opinions written by various bloggers about America are so brutal, and they are just posted with no explanation or proof. It is a "horrid" case against anyone, any country that contains innuendo and ugly charges written with no proof. Why don’t these writers offer their readers some explanation of what they say? Are we just to accept their conslusions? Mr. Hussain, I notice, writes in his article "End of Days" that "Talk of nuking Mecca to send one final message to the Muslim world has already done the rounds in the neocon’s camp." In another article "The President is Right Indeed," he writes about Mr. Bush "being a very religious man..." ...That is true but then he goes on with"not very long back made his troops swear on a holy book before they entered Fallujah with guns blazing and laid waste to life in all forms." WHAT holy book? He also says "Muslim radicals are desperately seeking the horrible nuclear weapon." I have read articles and heard on the media that "Radical Muslims" would love to get their hands on nuclear weapons. Didn’t we all hear that? However I have never heard that America ever, ever even considered "nuking Mecca." I think a statement like that merits proof. He may say the article was merely setting up hypothetical situations, however if you read his article, "End of Days," you will see that it is stated as fact.

We did not go into Fallujah bacause of the murder of the four contacters. Did you not notice that hundreds of the citizens of Fallujah were cheering these deaths? If we can believe the media, International News and Fox there were hundreds. That is the only I proof I can offer that Fallujah may well have been a base for the evil Mr. Zarqawi. To me he is evil. Is he a hero to some of you? Fallujah was a city of 250,000. Did we kill 250,000? That would verify Mr. Husseins statement that we "laid waste to all life forms." He then goes on to quote the Old Testament 1 Samuel 15:3. Could this be the "holy book" he mentions? Was Mr. Bush there holding that book for each soldier to swear on as he makes it appear? Again, read the article to agree or disagree with me. We all see things the way we see them. That does not make us "murders."

I read that a little over 2,000 were killed in Fallujah. How many were soldiers? How many children? As I said in another Email to Mr. Hussain, I hate it. I hate all this killing, but How many innocents for years and years have been blown up, beheaded, raped, etc., simply because things are not going the way certain people want them to go? Someone is finally telling these deadly children "NO!" America, et al have finally stood up. Also, If you look at my infamous "horrid" Email you will see that it is full of questions. I am simply a person looking for answers to all this tragedy. That’s all... Nothing extraordinary, just wondering...Of course I do get angry. Do the readers never get angry at something they read? Perhaps they will understand that emotion when they read my comments, if they are posted.

I have one last question. How many of us noticed when, for over a decade, Saddam Hussein, et al murdered, tortured, raped and created all those mass graves? Did we raise our voices then? Did I miss it??

As you probably have figured out, I am the writer of that infamous "horrid" Email. I will leave my name and address. Then you can yell at me all that you want...

PS: a brief list of some of the "propaganda" I indulge in, would be Fox, CNN and International News. Time, Newsweek, politcal books, i.e. John Gibson’s "Hating America, the New World Sport," Jon Stewart’s "America, Christoper Hitchins’ "Trial of Henry Kissinger," George Crile’s "Charlie Wilson’s War," and others. You can find a lot of political information in books such as these.

To: Bellaciao Re: "obliterated Fallujah & the ’horrid case’ against my country...

Yesterday, March 28th, I sent some comments to the Bellaciao site. In those comments I accused Mr. Nimmo and Mr. Hussain of reposting an Email, that I had previously sent to Mr. Nimmo in regard to an article posted in his blog. I mistakenly thought my mail had been reposted on this Bellaciao site without my permission.

Since my March 28th comments also addressed the importance of being honest in regard to what is written in a blog, I felt I must clarify my misunderstanding of the entire situation. After all, I did, in my comments, accuse these two bloggers of something they didn’t do...

Mr. Nimmo later explained to me, in an Email, that this reposting, without permission or use of the writer’s name, is a common practice on the Net. He also wrote that this "is the nature of the Internet." Therefore, I do apologize to both Mr. Nimmo and Mr. Hussain for my criticism of them. I am new to the blogging world. Apparently, I expect the Internet to be orderly and polite, when it is really a little like the "wild, wild West."

However, I do not apologize for all my other comments about truthfulness in regard to what is written in all of these blogs.

Carollane
PS: This is all very confusing, I know. Don’t worry, Mr. Nimmo and Mr. Hussain. I wrote this. You didn’t. I will look foolish , not you...

Dear Sir/Madam:

Is my message too long? Where did it go? I just picked up the mouse (for some reason) put it back down and my mail just disappeared. Did you get it? It’s the one about the "horrid" Email.

Never mind. It doesn’t matter.

Thank you anyway...
