Groix Island - NO TO THE CODS BREEDING: SIGN THE PETITION !

Several people contacted us to ask if they could use our website to start a petition against a cods breeding project in the south of Groix Island (French west coast). We can only encourage this action and we have made contacts with several associations that will not fail to bring us support.

“Waste from fish and food, chemical products used as disinfecting agents, antibiotics against parasites, steroids to produce more females, drugs and hormones to accelerate their growth mix with surrounding water and kill the neighboring natural environment.
All the waste in decomposition becomes a mix of phosphates, hydrogen sulfur and methane responsible for water deoxygenation and for the proliferation of toxic algae.”

For sea species newly breed, such as halibuts and cods, the proportion is more than 5 times the weight of wild fish for the production of an equivalent quantity of breed fish.

No doubt about the fact that this project initiators count on the general impoverishment to sell these products, which should not be even called fish.
