Attack-Terrorism USA Mary MacElveen

by Mary MacElveen

The Disney company that owns ABC theme for as long as I can remember is, “It’s a small world after all” and with that said, their plans to air ‘A Path to 9/11’ on the eve of the fifth anniversary of September 11th, 2006 says to many that they are dealing with yet another fairy tale. But, this fairy tale if not corrected in order to relay the truth of the events that led up to this horrific attack, will be seen by and large by the American people as a film of fact instead of fiction. Also, they are allowing a ‘Small world’ group of ideologues to control the information to the American people.

If they do not correct these fallacies, then they must pull it or at the very least, put a disclaimer at the beginning of it stating “The views of this docudrama are based upon the beliefs of those that produced it”

Perhaps our collective message to the Disney Company and ABC must be these words contained within the credits of the X-Files, “The truth is out there”, but ABC and Disney are refusing to show America the truth. Speaking of the X-Files which is shown primarily on the Sci-Fi channel just maybe that is the channel in which to air this piece of fiction.

In a past piece written for Citizens for Legitimate Government titled “Knowledge is power or the Power over Knowledge” I quote the esteemed philosopher Sir Francis Bacon (1510-1579) who authored one of the most powerful quotes known to man. That quote is "knowledge is power". Within this past editorial which was written on December 4, 2002, I wrote, “I am left to wonder if Sir Francis Bacon ever conceptualized that even during his day up until the present; there would be those in powerful positions, who would have the power over said knowledge. Would he still stand by his original quote?”

I have just read an article published in The American Thinker, titled ‘Senate Democrats seek censorship’ and again this is not about censorship. In this article, “Sens. Reid, Durbin, Stabenow, Schumer, and Dorgan sent a letter to Disney today containing the following passages:

“We write with serious concerns about the planned upcoming broadcast of The Path to 9/11 mini-series on September 10 and 11. Countless reports from experts on 9/11 who have viewed the program indicate numerous and serious inaccuracies that will undoubtedly serve to misinform the American people about the tragic events surrounding the terrible attacks of that day. Furthermore, the manner in which this program has been developed, funded, and advertised suggests a partisan bent unbecoming of a major company like Disney and a major and well respected news organization like ABC. We therefore urge you to cancel this broadcast to cease Disney’s plans to use it as a teaching tool in schools across America through Scholastic” If our children are America’s future, then they must know the truth through Scholastic.

In a letter from Bruce Lindsey and addressed to ABC, this is what he wrote, “Steve McPherson, President of ABC Entertainment, has said: “When you take on the responsibility of telling the story behind such an important event, it is absolutely critical that you get it right.” He then went onto say, “By ABC’s own standard, ABC has gotten it terribly wrong. The content of this drama is factually and incontrovertibly inaccurate and ABC has a duty to fully correct all errors or pull the drama entirely. It is unconscionable to mislead the American public about one of the most horrendous tragedies our country has ever known.”

I concur with Mr. Lindsey in stating that these errors must be corrected so that America gets it right once and for all. Yes, it is outrageous that this station can get many things wrong and only besmirches the memories of those that died on that fateful day. They are duty bound in honor to these innocent victims to finally set the record straight and let us be honest for once in our life, 9/11 happened on Bush’s watch and his alone.

Then again, Bush besmirched the very honor of these victims by launching an illegal war on Iraq and blaming Saddam Hussein with his connection to 9/11. While that fallacy has all been busted, many Americans still believe that original lie told to us by Bush.

In Mr. Lindsey’s letter he writes, “Mr. Nowrasteh has been criticized for inaccurately portraying historical events in the past. In response to previous criticism, he has even said, “I made a conscious effort not to contact any members of the Administration because I didn’t want them to stymie my efforts.” What this tells me is that he did not want any facts encroaching upon his work of fiction.

In this letter, Lindsey corrects the many lies relayed in this film and corrects them using the ‘9/11 Commission’ report as his source. I want to also remind my readers that it was Bush himself that tried to stonewall this very commission in the first place and was dragged kicking and screaming by the victims of 9/11.

Thomas Kean refused to include in his ‘911 Commission Report’ the testimony of federal employees who claimed they observed colleagues at the FBI and elsewhere revealing classified information to unknown sources in the weeks and months prior to 911, and further, in their attempts to blow the whistle, were continually ignored by higher-ups. Will ABC and Disney include these facts? No, they will continue with their fallacy that anything bad that happens in this country, somehow Clinton is to blame.

In the aftermath of 9/11, we as a country came together and demanded from all that partisan differences be put aside to find out who did this to us. Even Democratic officials in both houses of congress stood shoulder to shoulder with this administration, but this administration thumbed his nose at this bi-partisan unity. They (The Bush administration) used this tragic event to launch a misguided war on terror. As a result of this misguided war on terror, over 2,500 of our soldiers have now perished, thousands of our soldiers have come home maimed for life and having to fight for their just benefits. Also as a direct result of this war of lies called the ‘Bush War in Iraq’ we must not ever forget that tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis have been systematically murdered through an illegal genocide.

What support we had coming from the world community shortly after 9/11 was turned to scorn when foreign leaders coming from Russia, France and Germany saw the fiction being relayed to them by the Bush administration. Let me remind all that these three countries were met with scorn coming from this administration. We demonized France, and we put economic pressure on both Russia and Germany. Even Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has taken a hit in the polls and will most likely leave office in utter disgrace. That is his little parting gift as one of Bush’s most ardent supporters. Good riddance, Tony!

As we continually hear from Osama bin Laden, I did write a column concerning Bush’s failure in capturing him “Dead or alive”. In response to that column, this is what a U.S. Colonel (Ret) wrote me , “Your piece on Bush’s failure to capture Osama bin Laden was one of your best, not too over the top, just facts.”

If there were any broadcast that the American people do need to see it is the complete reading of the ‘Downing Street Memo’ in which this Bush administration fixed the intelligence to fit his design to wage unjustified wars. In these wars, he has committed the most heinous war crimes and those are the facts that the American people should hear about. The ‘Downing Street Memo’ should replace this fairy tale production known as the ‘Path to 9/11’.

The final message to ABC is that they either relay the facts to the American people or pull this production from being aired. We must not allow a ‘Small World’ group’s most partisan ideology to stand in the way of the truth. We who truly care for the victims of 9/11 must demand this of ABC and the Disney Company.

The truth is out there, but ABC is afraid of telling you the truth.
