Peter King and Ed Koch: Winners of the ‘Benedict Arnold’ award

There is that old saying “All politics is local” since I am a resident of Long Island, I do hope that this finds its way to those who will have the choice between Peter King (R 3rd Cong. Dist., NY) and his Democratic rival, David Mejias who is presently a legislator for the County of Nassau. In light of the Military Commissions Act, if there ever was a congressman that needed to be taken down, it is non-other than Peter King. Even my husband has said to me that he wishes that he lived in his district only so that he can vote against him. Well no such luck.

In a commercial praising Peter King our old ‘turn-coat’ former mayor of New York City, Ed Koch just drools all over this Bush cheer leader. He puffs his chest and says, “He stands for the Patriot Act”, is for “racial profiling” and is “against Islamic terrorists” Well considering that most sane people are against terrorists, little does Ed Koch realize we now live in terror. The terror is not foreign, but domestic. He pathetically says at the end of this commercial, “I just like the guy” as if he were our new best friend. No, anyone that supports a despot that all but obliterates the United States Constitution is our enemy.

Since our despot, Bush has chosen to divide us, let us divide right back and say, “You are either with the Constitution or with the domestic terrorists”

In another commercial a supposed neighbor of King sure plays up the terror card in her ramblings. We ain’t buying it, folks!

As many of us watched Keith Olbermann’s most sobering on-air commentary.."Your words are lies, Sir", he stated “We have lived as if in a trance. We have lived... as people in fear.” He then goes onto say “And now - our rights and our freedoms in peril - we slowly awake to learn that we have been afraid... of the wrong thing.” The wrong thing means terrorists. What we all have should be on guard for and this means every single American is the despot, Bush himself who now has total control over said freedoms and liberties that we enjoyed only two days ago.

The most stinging statement was when Olbermann stated “You, sir, have now imposed subjugation and called it freedom.” We are all now subjects under this ruler and congressman like Peter King must be held accountable. What that means is he must suffer defeat at the polls so he knows just how angry Americans are that his despot of a president stomped on the graves of our founding fathers. Ed Koch in his treacherous praising of King has done so as well.

In their continuous support of our despot, Bush, both Peter King and Ed Koch now share my dubious award called the ‘Benedict Arnold’ award.
