Kosovo: We’re On The Brink Of A Balkans Bloodbath

by George Galloway, MP

WHILE most were asleep, we’ve walked to the brink of yet another war in the Balkans.

Kosovo is a part of Serbia. That’s a legal and political fact. It wants to break away and appears to have secured British and American agreement, but not, alas, the agreement of either Serbia, whose land it is, or Russia, which will veto any breakaway in the UN. The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) rules the roost and has said it will make a unilateral declaration of independence soon. The Serbs cannot allow Kosovo, sacred to their orthodox Christian heritage for 1000 years, to go without a fight.

Serbia, with Russian help, outguns the KLA, who can only fight with outside help. That’s where we come in.

In the Nineties, we provided the air force for the breakaway KLA, branded as late as 2000 by the US as a "terrorist organisation". But this time we would have to be their infantry as well. Fancy another war, anyone?

And Serbia is not the only place where there is a substantial Albanian minority.

One quarter of the former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia is Albanian. They want independence too.

And 50 per cent of Bosnia-Herzegovina is Serb. If Kosovo declares independence, so might the Bosnian-Serbs. Then we will be back in the bloody Balkan wars.

Moreover, the principle that a state can be dismembered against its will is pregnant with problems all over the world.

The Kurdish people are 20 million strong in Turkey and would like to break away. Would we fight for them? Of course not.

Which goes to show the hypocrisy which has accompanied the break-up of Yugoslavia all along.

Lord George "Bomber" Robertson was one of the chief propagandists for the last Kosovo war. You will remember his sonorous claim that the Serbs had murdered 100,000 Albanians and we must act. In fact, 3000 people died, less than the death toll in Northern Ireland, and picture if you will the outrage in Britain if the US Air Force had started bombing us over that. No one knows how many of the 3000 were Albanians or Serbs, or who killed them and how. Kosovo is a garrison for foreign soldiers, and at the same time Europe’s major hub for gun-running, drugsmuggling, people-trafficking and prostitution.

If it becomes independent on the point of our bayonets, don’t say you weren’t warned.

  • There was a time, let’s say when Monroe was President for the sake of argument, when America didn’t feel compelled to involve itself in other nation’s warfare. But ever since the Vietnam war, err, excuse me, I forgot it wasn’t actually declared a war so therefore it was, umm, let’s see, an armed conflict, America has been on the slippery path headed towards escalated conflict. Of course, back then there was the almighty U.S.S.R. that had the free world shaking in its boots. Now there’s no enemy with such power. That doesn’t, however, prevent the U.S. from looking for conflicts whenever it can.

No wonder; that’s what empires do. After all what else is America going to do with the booty it collects from hard working people? Educate them? Ensure their medical coverage? Ha. You gotta be kidding you liberal dolts. Guns and "smart bombs" is where it’s at.

Just ask Bill Clinton, that newly revivified liberal who was actually a moderate bordering on a right winger when President. Today he’s peddling the image he and his wife are so-called liberals. But it doesn’t take much to remember his Administration was principally guided by the Republican Contract with America that gutted liberal programs, NAFTA, which crippled parts of the labor market, and that undeclared war in the Balkans conducted without Congressional approval.

Ever wonder where W got the inspiration to take a Congressional vote on acting - but not conducting war - for the sake of fighting terrorism and then moving ahead, nevertheless, to attack Iraq? Clinton’s Balkan war, which many at the time felt was necessary because "something had to be done." What the hell, they figured bullets are always more influential than negotiations. At least for a while. And now that while is up. And the roiling conflict that lasted hundreds of years unabated is once again coming to a boil.

Funny how you can’t really solve deep-seated problems like sectarian strife and ancient feuds with bullets. That’s really going to irritate the Neocons when they finally wake up and find out how the real world works.

Liberals - that is, humanitarians aiming for a more peaceful world - used to know that. But then they got hungry for power, like the Clintons, and supported military actions, such as Hillary’s vote for Kyl-Lieberman, because it seemed like acting tough was just the right thing to do. Well, here in the Balkans is the textbook example of how conflicts like these don’t get solved overnight simply because the great superpower, America, decides it’s time for others to stop the fighting.

America’s sure an odd country. When the African American community rose up in the 60s, clinging to Black Power and, at times, violence, the Federal government did all it could to quell the violence. Over time, the culture figured out ways to mitigate the hatred and minimize the prejudices. At home America can reach a point of accommodation that can restore broken briges. But it doesn’t happen because the parties are faced with the threat of "smart bombs" and torture. It happens because people talk to each other, and find ways of controlling their biases, if not eliminating them. If only America could spread this sort of accommodation around the world instead of depleted uranium munitions and tanks.

If America had the right kind of President this way of life, perhaps, could be spread instead of the neoimperialistic incursions currently being used to "spread democracy." Is it possible such a President will be elected?

  • Clinton was a murderer like George W. Bush! He ordered the bombing of civilians in former Yugoslawia and his Secretary of State Madeleine Albright murdered half a million of Iraq children through their stupid crazy boycott.

JEWSA has become the replacement of the NAZIS, SS and SA at the same time. God I hate the country of the US for being so arrogant about their killings. 85 million people have been killed through US attacks or support of crooks.

Face it! Americans you live in a great murderous country. The way you honor your murderers at veterans day is not funny!

Will you ever learn? Or will you learn when we have to burn you with our nuclear forces.

    • I wish you would get on with it. Somebody will before long, and to our eternal shame, it won’t be Britain.

  • When the claim that “100,000” Albanians were killed in Kosovo was exposed as a lie, others in the media simply resorted to other fabrications and distortions led by our own State Department. The facts indicate that nearly half of the 4,300 who were killed in Kosovo were Serbians. This does not include the hundreds of Serbs killed in the few years that preceded the bombing of Kosovo.

Less than 45% of the Albanians in Kosovo cast their ballot several weeks ago revealing the apathy among Albanians—maybe due to their reluctance to be governed by a ban of KLA war criminals and terrorists like Agim Ceku, a Hague convicted war criminal and recent Prime Minister. Hashim Thaci, the new prime minister, has the most blood-soaked hands in the region. But our State Department is notorious for backing criminals, thugs and butchers in the past like Saddam and Noriega to mention only two.

No mention is ever made in the press that 40% of the Muslim Albanians in Kosovo are illegal aliens who cross the border from Albania into Kosovo as easily as Mexicans cross our border each night in San Diego, California—a sign of things to come in California with our own illegal immigration invasion which most of our elected officials choose to ignore. LaRasa, an extremist Mexican group already has a flag, uniforms and an agenda to retake the Southwest and Americans simply ignore their underground activities.

Also omitted in mainstream media is any reference to the 151 ancient Christian Serbian churches that have been destroyed in the past 5 years, with 42 destroyed in 4 days of Albanian violence in March, 2004 in which 19 Serbs were killed and 500 Serbian homes went up in smoke as 17,000 NATO troops watched in helpless silence. Or was this American and British cooperation? Now we are being fed the line that the remaining 100,000 Serbs will be “protected” under any grant of independence. If you believe such crap coming out of the Bush administration then I have a bridge in the Mojave Desert for sale.

I have photographic evidence of General Wesley Clark embracing Agim Ceku and Hasim Tachi and an image of Madeleine Albright kissing Hashim Thaci. These destroyed Christian Serbian churches, dating to the 12th and 13th centuries, survived 400 years of Turkish occupation, two Balkan Wars, two World Wars and 78 days of U.S. bombing, but proved incapable of surviving the last 5 years under a Muslim "majority." Such shameful racism is simply glossed over in the American and British press as Albanians treat their minority Serbs like Americans treated blacks in Alabama 40 years ago.

The U.S. has spent billions of dollars building Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo that consumes over 1,000 acres for what, to protect 1.7 million Albanians from 100,000, mostly older Serbs? Those Serbs remain in ghettos surrounded by barbedwire defended by NATO forces. Those who venture out for food are murdered. American military interests in building one of the largest American military bases in Europe is not questioned, but Russia who has no presence in the Balkans or Kosovo is being questioned? This is a pure unvarnished political power grab by the West and the stealing of Serbian assets like the Trepca Mines worth an estimated $5-10 Billion dollars with one of the largest coal reserves in Europe. This is also about financial thugs like George Soros and his band of degenerate financial criminals who are out to steal assets from the Serbs, Romanians or any ethnic group that stand in their way.

George Soros gave $10 million dollars in aid to Bosnian Muslims during the war and gave less than $100,000 in aid to the Serbs. Soro’s aid to Serbs was nothing but window dressing to ward off any criticism. Christian organizations like Billy Graham were pouring millions into Bosnia with less than 2% earmarked for Serbian victims so that they, too, could say they gave to both sides. The Graham organization was not involved in the Balkans to help rebuild the more than 500 Serbian churches that were destroyed, they were there to steal Orthodox Christian souls. What hypocrites. Soros is about as invisible in Kosovo as the Germans who are up to their elbows in Serbian blood from the Genocide of over 1.2 million Serbs, 60,000 Jews and 90,000 Gypsies in WWI and their hands are covered in Serbian blood again beginning with the creation of a Croatian state and a Bosnian state.

Soros wanted to get his hands on the mineral and natural resources of the Balkans for years and the only way he could succeed was to climb in bed with Islamic fascists. This comes as no surprise as this Hungarian has openly displayed his Serbophobia throughout his lifetime. Today, thanks to people like Soros, many political extremists in the world feel free to perpetrate collective guilt on the Serbs, even suggesting that they should lose Kosovo merely because of the deeds of their former leader. I remind my readers that not since Hitler has anyone promoted collective guilt and collective punishment. I also remind you that millions of Serbs protest marched for 3 months in the snow against Milosevic and his regime, the largest and longest protest march in modern history. Now major government want to punish moderate Serbs? Are we really this vindictive, even after doing $45 billion in infrastructure damage to their country?

After the Holocaust we did not punish the Germans or the Japanese collectively, we helped rebuild their nations. We did not suggest taking Berlin away from the Germans nor Tokyo away from the Japanese, but today there seems to be a deliberate orchestration by the State Department to not only destroy the Serbs collectively but to totally dismember their nation. Few NATO countries have stepped forward to rebuild the $45 billion in damage we did to Serbia.

During sanctions you could not find an Aspirin in Belgrade. Serbs were forced to dig up the dead to retrieve pacemakers and babies died from a simple lack of antibiotics. Madeleine Albright used food and medicine as a weapon of war and encouraged Elizabeth Dole, President of the Red Cross at the time, to withhold food and medicine to the Serbs. Albright proudly stated that "It was a good thing that we starved to death 500,000 Iraqi children" as she boasted on 60 Minutes. It is more than apparent that the United States has become the enemy of the world with such grotesque ideas. Ah! but the U.S. insisted "We did not take sides in Bosnia." However it was Clinton who perpetrated an illegal war without an Act of Congress, or a vote by the United Nations. He violated the NATO treaty, the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act and numerous international laws. Clinton aided and abetted the Muslims and turned a blind eye to weapons flowing into Bosnia from Muslim countries including Muslim terrorists. He and his ilk should be standing in the dock at The Hague including General Wesley Clark who used cluster bombs on civilian populations, and who bombed entire Serbian villages, hospitals, schools, nursing homes, moving trains, buses and churches. War crimes by every definition. The guilty should be punished, including our own guilty elected officials.

More than 450,000 Serbs have been cleansed from Kosovo land on which Serbs were a majority for centuries, until the Holocaust, when tens of thousands were liquidated by Albanian Nazis and 160,000 were cleansed. Tito forbade their return to Kosovo and gave their land to these Nazi collaborators. When Tito granted "autonomy" to Muslim Albanians in 1978 over 100,000 Serbs were forced to leave due to the rape of Serbian nuns and Serbian girls and the burning of hundreds of Serbian farms. These crimes against humanity were well reported by David Binder of the New York Times during these years of Albanian violence. That same media now seems to has amnesia, especially the New York Times who has not printed ONE SINGLE ARTICLE written by a Serbian journalist, author, scholar or political leader for the past ten years. What a disgrace and what it says about our so-called "freedom of speech" and "freedom of the press" in the United States.

During the bombing in 1999 over 100,000 Albanians fled to Belgrade... into the arms of their Serbian enemies? Another 250,000 fled to Montenegro and 150,000 fled to Macedonia, both Serb dominated areas. It’s the first time in modern warfare that the alleged victims ran to their enemies, are we really this naïve? But the truth was told by two British journalists who were in Kosovo during the bombing and reported that the KLA forced tens of thousands of Albanians to leave and made damn sure they fled past the CNN cameras. One was the late Ann Prichard whose driver was killed by one of our bombs. These reporters also said that "Albanians were not being cleansed by Serbian troops they were fleeing the falling bombs." No explanation is ever made as to how it was possible for 4,000 Serbian troops to cleanse "850,000" Albanians in less than 78 days. This was another Muslim media hoax like the “Markale Market massacre,” which we now know was Muslim created, the “Rape of 60,000 Bosnian women,” that turned out to be one of the biggest lies ever perpetrated by the media, the “Destruction of Dubrovnik,” in which old auto tires were burned throughout the walled city and photographed with telephoto lenses to show the world the city was being destroyed. No, it was only smoking! Remember, our State Department excels at disinformation.

Muslims have become expert at lies and propaganda. We now know 7 years later that "350,000 victims" were not killed in Bosnia. In fact, Reuters reported in November, 2006, that 4 major human rights organizations had combed through victims’ lists for 5 years, "Were having difficulty coming up with 90,000 victims on all sides." We now know that bodies of slaughtered Albanians were not dissolved in mining acid pits or dropped down mining shafts at Trepca.

In 1942, Goebbels, the Minister of Propaganda for the Third Reich told the world, "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." This seems to be the world of lies in which Albanians live in Kosovo.

Of course writers of this junk never tell their readers that when NATO escorted Albanians back into Kosovo, tens of thousands of Albanian criminals who had been recently released from Albanian prisons entered Kosovo pretending to be cleansed victims of the Serbs. Today this criminal element has converted Kosovo into the cesspool of Europe with human trafficking, prostitution run a muck, weapons dealing and have made Kosovo the transit point for 70% of the heroin entering Europe and the EU deserves it!

Today’s Kosovo land grab by a fictitious Muslim majority is an effort to make Serbs extinct. In the 2000 census Serbs represented 21% in Kosovo. Other minorities made up another 4%. Today Serbs represent less than 3%. If the Serbs and other minorities were allowed to return and the illegal aliens were deported there would not be this fictitious Muslim majority that the media simply ignores. President Bush apparently supports the violation of the UN Charter, Resolution 1244, and the Helsinki Final Act, but, the crisis is about more than Russian sympathies, it is about “equal human rights” for the Christian citizens of Serbia who happen to live in Kosovo.
