Toronto’s Grand Slam World War-Criminal Weekend!

Wars and conflicts Governments Canada-Québec

By now all should be aware not only of Condoleezza Rice’s appearance at a $500 a plate dinner at the University of Calgary on May 13, but also of George Bush and Bill Clinton’s Friday, May 29th engagement at the Toronto Convention Center.

What has not yet been widely reported is the presence of additional Class A, unindicted war criminals in town that weekend.

On Sunday, May 31, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, of which Liberal MP Bob Rae is a director, will be holding a benefit at 7:30 PM at Roy Thompson Hall. Among those listed to attend:

Michael Chertoff, US Homeland Security and previously head of the Justice Department’s criminal division in charge of terrorism prosecutions;

John Bolton, US Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, former UN Ambassador

Bushpuppet and Australian war criminal John W Howard, former Prime Minister responsible for taking Australia into Iraq.

As well will be Rabbi Marvin Hier, described by Newsweek as "the most influential Rabbi in North America".

This plus the recent hiring by Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper of former Bush Spokesman and liar Ari Fleischer, as well as Security and Free Trade Agreements with Israel, coupled with the barring of British MP George Galloway, as a "terrorist sympathizer", signals that rightist trends are continuing in Canada.

Toronto is lovely in late May. Plan to attend. And bring your handcuffs..

"I use war crimes to encompass the commission of all acts declared illegal under international rules of war as enumerated in the various Hague and Geneva agreements and conventions and pronounced in the Nuremberg and Tokyo tribunals. Among these acts are the carrying out of wars of aggression, the use of poison gases and other inhumane weapons, deliberately killing and starving civilian populations, and the use of force beyond military necessity. War crimes can be carried out directly or through proxy forces that are funded, encouraged and protected in their own war criminality. This means that inaction - failure to discourage or prevent the carrying out of war crimes known to be going on, planned for enlargement, and preventable - is itself a form of war criminality..

"It is a big mistake for us to grant any validity to international law.."
