7th Anniversary: West ignores US Iraqi Holocaust, Iraqi Genocide & 4.4 million Iraqi deaths, 1990-2010

As detailed below the US Alliance (comprising most notably the US, UK and Australia) has been conducting a merciless Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide that has taken the lives of an estimated 4.4 million Iraqis over the last 20 years and created 5-6 million Iraqi refugees.

However Western media holocaust ignoring permits this atrocity to continue.

Holocaust ignoring is far more serious than holocaust denial because the latter at least admits the possibility of argument whereas the former simply ignores the Elephant in the Room and solipsistically says that reality is what we conveniently choose it to be.

In 1945 the Germans adopted a protocol summarized by the acronym CAAAA (C4A) that involved Cessation of the killing, Acknowledgment of the crimes, Apology for the crimes, Amends for the crimes and Assertion "never again to anyone".

The CAAAA (C4A) Protocol should be applied in all countries involved in the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide - however currently no elements of the protocol have been applied and the active and passive killing continues in Occupied Iraq, there is no Acknowledgment, no Apology and no Assertion of non-repetition of the atrocity.

I have sent the following succinct Letter to media worldwide on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the illegal, war criminal US, UK and Australian invasion of Iraq.

However, apart from some decent, anti-racist, humanitarian media (e.g. see Countercurrents: http://www.countercurrents.org/poly... ), the silence has been deafening in a world dominated by holocaust-complicit and holocaust-denying Mainstream media.

LETTER.

Dear Sir,

It is the 7th anniversary of the illegal and war criminal invasion of Iraq by US, UK and Australian forces on 20 March 2003. What has been the human cost?

As of 20 March 2010 post-invasion violent deaths in Occupied Iraq total 1.4 million (according to the eminent US Just Foreign Policy).

Post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 0.8 million and post-invasion non-violent excess deaths (avoidable deaths, deaths that did not have to happen) total 1.1 million (based on 2006 revision data from the UN Population Division), this being identical to an independent estimate from under-5 infant deaths.

Gulf War violent deaths totalled 0.2 million and excess deaths and under- 5 infant deaths under Sanctions (1990-2003) totalled 1.7 million and 1.2 million, respectively.

In the period 1990-2010 Iraqi violent deaths totalled 1.6 million, non-violent excess deaths from deprivation totalled 2.8 million, under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to US Alliance war crimes in gross violation of the Geneva Convention) totalled 2.0 million and refugees totalled 5-6 million.

This is an Iraqi Holocaust and an Iraqi Genocide as per Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention (cf WW2 Jewish Holocaust, 5-6 million killed, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation).

Those responsible for the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide - notably George Bush I, George W. Bush II, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama (US), Tony Blair and Gordon Brown (UK), and John Howard and Kevin Rudd (Australia) - should be arraigned for war crimes before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Avoidably buying goods or services from people, corporations or countries complicit in the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide is morally utterly unacceptable - it is like buying soap made in Auschwitz.

In his Nobel Prize Acceptance speech in 2005 anti-racist, humanitarian, Jewish British writer Harold Pinter argued for the arraignment of George Bush and Tony Blair for war crimes in Iraq (see: http://www.countercurrents.org/arts...): “We have brought torture, cluster bombs, depleted uranium, innumerable acts of random murder, misery, degradation and death to the Iraqi people and call it ’bringing freedom and democracy to the Middle East’. How many people do you have to kill before you qualify to be described as a mass murderer and a war criminal? One hundred thousand? More than enough, I would have thought” .
