Mister President,

In a previous letter, I wrote to you: “The United State’s hypocrisy is flagrant; it condemns the Cuban government’s actions while sweeping their own crimes under the rug”. This is not an unfounded accusation, I have been striving to show this in every letter that I’ve been sending you every month.

While the five Cuban patriots, Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, and René González, mistakenly designated as terrorists by your country’s reporters, are still imprisoned in your jails, the real terrorists are not losing time and are plotting away in all impunity.

In his capacity as “V.I.P.” at the eighth annual congress of the Alpha 66 terrorist organization, which took place on February 27th and 28th in Miami, Luis Posada Carriles encouraged paramilitary organizations to resume their violent acts against Cuba.

This was not the first time that this terrorist was invited by this organization. It was already the case during the 2009 congress, the records showing “…The indefatigable Luis Posada Carriles, with which we share his love for Cuba and his hopes for peace and happiness for Cuban families…”, is an insult to the memory of the numerous victims of this assassin.

Do not forget, Mister President, that this individual, along with Orlando Bosch, was the commander for the 1976 terrorist attack against the Cubana Airlines plane that caused 73 deaths, and that this is just one of his multiple crimes! We are far from the false image of a non-violent political party that its leaders would like to give concerning this organization!

At the 2010 Alpha 66 congress, the idea of raising funds to buy boats equipped with machine-guns as part of a plan for landing in Cuba, or for attacking the Cuban coast, was put forward.

Another terrorist organization is regaining prestige during this year of 2010, “Rosa Blanca”. It was the initial counter-revolutionary organization. It was created in the U.S. by Diaz-Balart in joint collaboration with the C.I.A., and was rendered infamous as early as 1959 by burning down schools, farms, factories, sugar-cane fields, etc. These arsons caused numerous victims. Aided by the Dominican dictator Trujillo and the C.I.A., the members of this organization had tried to bring about an uprising in the Escambray Mountains.

Diaz-Balart is the father of Lincoln Diaz-Balart, who participates at the congress where he is at the moment finishing his term and, as a worthy son of his father, is taking up the flame and trying to bring new life into the moribund “Rosa Blanca”.

Working in counter-revolutionary organizations is a lucrative activity, when one considers the millions of dollars that your government showers down on subversive activities. The terrorist Roberto Martin Pérez and his henchmen, descendants of the torturers of the Batista dictatorship, do not want to be left out and are joining in with the resurrection of the “Rosa Blanca”.

Everyone is lusting after his piece of the pie!

Other terrorist organizations such as the FNCA are extremely present in the struggle against the Cuban revolution. This brings to mind the remarks of the congress participant Ros Lehtinen, taken up by that organization. This woman made headlines in March 2006 when she declared to a BBC reporter: “I agree with the possibility of seeing someone assassinate Fidel Castro…” Ros Lehtinen has also made herself known in her fight to obtain funds to pay Luis Posada Carriles’s lawyers, and made considerable efforts twenty years ago to have Orlando Bosch’s sentence commuted.

I could continue to enumerate the organizations in your country that have, as their goal, to do away with the Cuban revolution by violence. The list would be extremely long…

In July of 2010, when Francisco Chavez Abarca, the right-hand man of Luis Posada Carriles and author of numerous terrorist bombings in Cuba, was arrested, several of Posada Carriles’s and the C.I.A.’s cronies must have had their sleep disturbed! This terrorist was arrested as he was entering into Venezuela. He has already made several interesting revelations. What, in fact, was this Salvadorian doing in Venezuela? Sightseeing?

Mister President, when we see the relentlessness of the United States towards these five Cubans who had fought against the terrorism fomented by organizations such as those that I have evoked in this letter, and encouraged by your government, we are revolted.

Don’t you think that the moment has come to demonstrate your sense of justice? To liberate these five courageous Cubans would be a firm gesture on your part that would open, at last, the door to renewed relations between the United States and Cuba.

Constantly hoping for such a gesture on your part, please receive, Mister President, my most sincere humanitarian sentiments.
