BUSH NEWSPEAK REVERSED

A News Satire

By Peter Fredson

November 25, 2005

Every day I visit GOOGLE for its excellent news service. The other day I read another of George Bush’s incessant belligerent war rumblings against Muslim countries. The Reuters news report said basically:

“Syria would start pulling back its forces in Lebanon Monday. The United States warned it would accept no half measures and wants the Syrians gone before May elections. The United States is wary of Assad’s plans. The White House said that, with its allies, it would not stand by as Assad takes "half measures" in Lebanon, promising to step up pressure for a complete and immediate withdrawal.”

"The international community is not going to stand by and let Assad continue these kind of half measures," White House counselor Dan Bartlett said. He said a withdrawal timetable could be worked out if Assad commits to removing all troops and secret services and indicated this must be done before elections expected in Lebanon in May.”

"I don’t think there could be a scenario in which there could be a real, truly free and fair election with a Syrian presence continuing to have an intimidation factor in Lebanon," Bartlett said. Syrian secret services and intelligence officials in Lebanon "really keep the clamp of fear in the Lebanese people," he said.”

Well, that made me wonder if President Assad could reverse the belligerent Bush talk, so that the news item might read as follows:

“The United States will start pulling back its forces in Iraq Monday, and we warned the United States that we would accept no half measures. We want the Yanqui terrorists gone before May elections.”

“Under intense international pressure, Bush announced plans Saturday for a complete withdrawal of troops from Iraq but said Washington would play a role in its neighbor’s affairs. He also said that all his corporations would stay in Iraq to help the country extract its oil.”

“The pullback would start immediately after a meeting in Damascus between leaders of both countries to approve Bush’s plan for a swift two-phased withdrawal.”

Syria has long been wary of Bush’s aggressive war-mongering plans. It said Sunday that, with its allies, it would not stand by as Bush takes "half measures" in Iraq, promising to step up pressure for a complete and immediate withdrawal.”

"The international community is not going to stand by and let Bush continue to have these kinds of half measures," a Syrian Mullah commented.”

“He said a withdrawal timetable could be worked out if Bush commits to removing all troops and secret services and indicated this must be done before elections expected in Lebanon in May”.

"I don’t think there could be a scenario in which there could be a real, truly free and fair election with an American invasion presence continuing to have a truly terrorizing and intimidation factor in Iraq.” the Mullah said.."

“American secret services, contractors, rampaging soldiers, missionaries and intelligence officials in Iraq "really keep the clamp of fear in the Iraqi people," he said.”

“President Assad is considering new unilateral sanctions, including freezing American assets, Syrian officials say, and is discussing "next steps" with Muslim and European allies.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if the American press printed both sides of an issue, and that FOX NEWS hired some real reporters instead of Bush sycophants?

Wouldn’t it be nice if that Black Angel of Death, Condi Rice, would stop preaching “democracy” and “freedom” for a boss that actually engages in “Death” and “Destruction?” And it would be nice if Condi Rice were not a neocon seeking world domination and talking about nuclear disarmament for other nations but strangely leaving out U.S. ambitions.

She should stop threatening Syria and Iran as we know that invasion of those countries was already envisioned by the Bush juggernaut and is simply waiting the right pretext and opportunity to “preempt.”

It would be exceptionally nice if Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rove and Wolfowitz would look up some dictionary to find out what “sovereignty” means. It certainly does not mean having 140,000 troops armed to the teeth with mighty weapons of destruction, tanks, planes, and phosphorous grenades in a foreign country where they came via lies, deceit, misinformation and preemption.

A country under occupation, under extreme duress, with heavy weapons aimed at any head within reach, killing civilians daily, demolishing homes and infrastructure, is hardly “sovereign.”

Hypocrisy would seem to be the mildest reproach we can apply to Bush.

It would be very nice if we did not hear, daily, that some more of our “brave boys” have been killed. We are very tired of Bush saying “It is worth it.” We wish his 2 daughters had volunteered for action and then been killed to see if he thought that it “was worth it.”

We certainly wish that the neocons themselves had volunteered for infantry duty and gotten killed, and we definitely would say it was “worth it.”

We certainly don’t think any more that Bush or any of his cabinet are “worth it.” We would rejoice if Bush and his entire cabinet would right now disappear from the scene but fully expect the new few years will bring greater lies, disappointment, crises, stupidities and embarrassments without end.

And, wouldn’t it be very nice if Bush refrained from making warlike pronouncements, with his hydrogen bombs ready in the silos, and instead concentrated on keeping America a democracy instead of letting his Far Right sponsors turn it into a theocracy?

Wouldn’t it be nice if Bush would follow the Constitution instead of searching for Bible quotations to use as legislation?

Wouldn’t it be nice if Bush appointed competent people in areas affecting public health, welfare and safety instead of going to fundamentalist cronies?

We are fully dreading the day when the entire justice system merges with the Oval Office, like the Republican Congress has done. This country is in grave peril from theocrats, corrupt corporations, corrupt politicians, corrupting lobbyists, and lackadaisical ignorant citizens.

We foresee the demolishing of the Middle Class and the virtual slavery of the rest of the miserable population dancing to the tune of the wealthy Plantation Owners.

Perhaps it is too much to ask that Bush refrain from his attacks on Social Security, Medicare, Gays, and the Environment to concentrate on getting factories and jobs back in the United States. He seems to prefer to spend his time waving flags, holding up crosses, trash talking, and smirking while pardoning turkeys and slandering war heroes for the press.

AFTERTHOUGHT: I hear the Bush wanted to bomb Al-Jazeera News Service. Really! My advice to Bush, if he wants to get rid of the worst of the lying media, the worst “reporters”, the worst “news service” is to find out where FOX NEWS is located. I’d be glad to send him a map.

Perhaps Rumsfeld could send the FOX reporters to some secret Gulag CIA jail and torture or abuse them until he gets "the truth."

It would be nice to see the reporters dangling from a hook or being given electric shocks, or being menaced by a large dog. After all, they uphold Cheney and Bush for this practice.

  • Why Mr Bush asks Syria to stop the terrorist from crossing to Iraq while his explicit objective now is to fight the terrorists in Iraq instead of fighting them in the US and elsewhere.Where is the truth?

  • As always keep the whole picture in mind: except for the 1st WTC attack in ’93 we were never attacked by terrorists on our own soil. PNAC staged the 9/11 attacks with El Quada as props. So fighting them there in stead of here is nonsense.

  • Each time Bush is accusing some other countries for being a rogue state, using WMD, abusement against human rights or torture and murder - he gives an astonishingly picture about himself and the situation in the United States.
Human rights are trampled in the United States by police and officials. Police are allowed to shot citizens and they get away. Press being censored.
Use of WMD in Vietnam, Iraq and very infamous on Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

Americans are bloddy murderers. All of them! They still embellish their war fare in history lesson in schools.
