It’s taken me 6 years to recover from Lartiam toxicity. The worst nightmare I have ever experienced. I have written senators, spoke to the folks at LAriam action USA (thank god for them) and others who cant believe this drug is still on the market. Here’s the bottom line after 5 years of research:
1. There’s an information gap. Medical information trickles, even with the net. One assumes the information is ubiquitous, but it’s not.
2. Look at the WW2 and vietnam caualty numbers. Do you think the military cares? As long as troops in the field aren’t dying of malaria, they really don’t care. You think Im kidding? Ask those who have complained. Check out Lariam’s record with militaries around the world. You guessed it, it’s banned.
3. New drugs are coming out, so THEY arent really worried.
4. Malaria is worse than the side effects, so they say...it’s not their life.
