Do not count on the media to tell the American people squat - they are owned and controlled by huge comglomerates whose bottom line is profits not truth, entertainment not reality. They report just enough to make you think your informed, but not enough to question anything.
The only news in America that is worth a damn is PBS (public broadcasting) - McNeil Lehrer, Frontline and NOW being the best (they show BBC news as well). Bush & conservatives recently replaced the head of PBS, complaining about their "liberal leanings." Yes, they are trying to change/control the only real news we get!!! - Besides, no-one watches PBS news except those who already "get it." Those who *need* to watch alternative news are too busy listening to Rush Limbaugh and Fox, or CNN (I use to think great! a 24 hour news show - that just repeats endlessly the same crap u here on the 30 min news shows anywhere else! What a joke).
Air America & PBS radio are the only other sources for alternative mass-media news. Again, the only people listening, or digging for news from many sources on the internet, are those who already "get it." ....
We definitely live in an Orwellian land, where our sources of information are controlled. It’s not about telling lies, as much as it’s about keeping people complacent; Giving just enough information to make you think your informed, but not enough to ever question what we’re doing.
