Is Sarah Palin Certifiably Insane?

Sarah Palin is not opposed to going to war with Russia By Mary MacElveen Like Ed Koch who endorsed Barack Obama citing of Sarah Palin, “She scares me”, I would have to side with the former mayor. In reading where Palin stated in her interview with ABC’s Charlie Gibson she is open to the idea of a war with Russia, it does create a sense of terror within me. While I did not watch the interview, this was enough for me and reaffirmed my support for Senator Obama and Senator (...)

A Pig By Any Other Name
By : Daveparts - Friday September 12, 2008
By David Glenn Cox With pseudo-intellectual, sycophantic stealthiness, steeled stiletto daggers of subterfuged surrogates stand stunned, shocked and savaged by serrated subliminal wounds inflicted by non-existent weapons of their own invention. Ask me not what he said for I know what they were thinking! Meanwhile, back at the pig ranch, another American brokerage house is on the deathwatch. Lehman Brothers is dying and the death rattle has set in. It is now only a question of time before (...)

The Afghan War’s Heavy Toll On Children
By : Brian McAfee - Wednesday September 3, 2008

By Brian McAfee Again today reports coming out of Afghanistan indicate more dead children. Three were killed and seven injured when western troops fired artillery shells at a civilian house in western Afghanistan. This occurs in the wake of the August 22 bombing that resulted in the deaths of 90 people, 60 children, 15 women and 15 men. Afghans and UN officials have confirmed the numbers but the U.S. insists there were only 5 dead children and 25 dead Taliban. Civilian casualties are a (...)

Mussolini’s Fascism, this is what it looks like
By : chycho - Monday September 1, 2008
Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini, the “Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party and is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of Fascism,” once said: “the keystone of the Fascist doctrine is its conception of the State, of its essence, its functions, and its aims. For Fascism the State is absolute, individuals and groups relative.” Just in case we needed a little reminder of what Mussolini meant and what Fascism really looks like, (...)

Here the deconstruction made by Byzantine blog This photo was first published by the Reuters as an image of a "dead woman being carried from the town of Gori". But this "dead woman", incredibly, is clutching the nurse’s arm. This man (...)

Oh, No! Not Joe Biden!

“The next six months are going to tell the story.” - Sen. Joe Biden pontificating on the illegal Iraq War on 12/18/05. The Democratic Party has a death wish! There is no other rational explanation for hapless Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) ending up as Sen. Barack Obama’s VP running mate. For starters, the presidential election is about getting a majority of the electoral votes. Delaware “only” has three electoral votes! And, Biden isn’t a sure thing to carry (...)

Scientologists in Action: The True Nature of Scientology’s "Vulture Ministers"
By : Dr. Lilly von Marcab - Thursday August 21, 2008
One of the Scientology cult’s many front operations is called the "Volunteer Ministers." Human rights advocates, public health officials, and emergency personnel in nations worldwide have another name for these jet-setting opportunists. They call them "Vulture Ministers." Increasingly, Scientology is targeting the people of less-wealthy countries in Africa, Asia, Oceania and South America. Scientology delights in relentlessly producing an endless supply of "press releases" extolling (...)

The Razorcake Interview: "Vote theft: class war by other means”
By : Chris Pepus - Thursday August 21, 2008
We need to learn the issues. People are unarmed. That is, people know that they’re getting shafted, but they don’t really know exactly how. The American press corps has finally begun to report on illegal activities of the Bush administration. However, the subject of election theft remains largely ignored. In recent years, the Republican Party has used an array of tactics to subtract votes from opposing candidates. These include sending defective voting machines to strongly (...)

By David Glenn Cox Ah, the time grows short from May to November, but still there is time for one more Bush war. The Russian incursion into Georgia has been heavy-handed and overbearing, but not really all that surprising. Russia is a nation on the far edge of Europe, and prior to the 20th century all political communications were sent by dispatch. Before the Czars could hear about an issue, in many cases it was already over. Ruling over a huge empire with weak and almost non-existent (...)

9/11 Skeptics in New Jersey Confront David Boren
By : Michael P. Wright - Thursday August 7, 2008
By Michael P. Wright Observe that Boren’s response was to play dumb when they asked him if he supported the call for a new official 9/11 investigation. Boren claims that he was no longer involved with the intelligence community after he left the U.S. Senate in 1994. I am quite sure that this was just another one of Boren’s many lies. Does everyone remember the ‘Citizen Kang’ segment from The Simpsons? The math is not hard.” For those who have been following the Foreign Intelligence (...)

The far-right in Ukraine are acting as the vanguard of a protest movement that is being reported as pro-democracy. I’VE DECIDED TO "WASTE" MY VOTE

In a 2004 episode of Comedy Central’s animated series South Park, an election was held to determine whether the new mascot for the town’s elementary school would be a “giant douche” or a “turd sandwich.” Confronted with these two equally unpalatable choices, one child, Stan Marsh, refused to vote at all, which resulted in his ostracization and subsequent banishment from the town. Although this satirical vulgarity was intended as a commentary on the two (...)

HIGHER EDUCATION IN AMERICA: DREAM OR NIGHTMARE? PART IV
Friday 28 September
by : David R. Hoffman, Legal Editor of Pravda.Ru
PART I PART II PART III If there is one major inconsistency in life, it is that young people who know little more than family, friends and school are suddenly, at the age of eighteen, supposed to decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, because of their limited life experiences, the illusions they have about certain occupations do not always comport to the realities. I discovered this the first time I went to college. About a year into my studies, I (...)

PART I PART III PART IV Several years ago, a young lady came into the college where I was teaching to inquire about a full-time instructor’s position in the sociology department. Even as colleges and universities raise their tuition costs, they are relying more and more on adjunct instructors. Adjuncts are (...)

HIGHER EDUCATION IN AMERICA: DREAM OR NIGHTMARE? PART I

PART II PART III PART IV When The Bill of Rights was added to the United States Constitution over two hundred years ago, Americans were blessed with many rights considered to be “fundamental.” One conspicuously missing, however, was the right to an education. America was primarily an agrarian culture, and education, especially higher education, was viewed as a privilege reserved for the children of the rich and (...)

If there is one universal question that haunts all human beings at some point in their lives, it is, “Why do we die?” Death, after all, is the great illogic. It ultimately claims all, the rich and the poor, the mighty and the small, the good and the evil. Death also has the capability to make most human pursuits—such as the quest for wealth, fame and power—vacuous and fleeting. Given this reality, I have often wondered why so many people are still willing to (...)

HOW MUCH CORRUPTION CAN DEMOCRACY ENDURE?

A question I’ve frequently been asked since I began writing for Pravda.Ru in 2003 is, “Why did you become disillusioned with the practice of law?” This question is understandable, particularly since, in most people’s minds, being an attorney is synonymous with wealth and political power. I’ve always been reluctant to answer this question for fear it will discourage conscientious and ethical people from pursuing careers in the legal profession—a (...)
