I just returned from Afghanistan from an assignment in support of the U.S. Military as a civillian. I have seen the scarrs on the backs ,hands, faces and buttock of the Afghanistan people who were caught listening to music or their beards were not long enough to satisfy the religious requirements of the Pakistani religious group called the Taliban . You complain of the Abuses of the enemy of even taking their pictures in what might be call an unflattering position and some how rationalize that our troops or Americans who are taken prisoner might some how suffer the same fate. However there has been no American soldier or civillian who has been taken hostage by our enimies who has been return to us alive whith the exception of some who have been able to escape on there own . And all of them wished that the only abuse that they had received was only a few unflattering picture ! Think of what your freedom, Peter, to have written this article would have been under Suddam or the Taliban .When even a muslim Prof.in Suadi Arabia will be given 750 lashes for just speaking a few favorable words about the jews. I wonder how many lashes you would get for such a long article! In the world of the Islamic Extremist ,Life is Really expenidible and cheap.
