One of the most significant ongoing scourges that befalls humanity worldwide is the ongoing exploitation and sexual abuse of over two million girls and boys through sex trafficking. UNICEF estimates that two and a half million children, most of them girls, are tricked or forced into the multibillion dollar global sex industry.
The struggle to save, protect and defend the safety and well-being of children at risk for this type of travesty is and will remain an ongoing, sometimes uphill (…)

By David Glenn Cox
There is a video making the rounds on the Internet of a woman dragging her child on a leash through a Verizon store. There was scads of outrage and the mother was charged with a felony. Well, Dr. Obvious says that child abuse emanates from poor parenting skills.
When my wife was pregnant with our first child, another couple dropped by to congratulate us. As we chatted the husband said, “Enjoy those house plants while you can!”
“Why is that?" I asked.
Child workers, some as young as 10, have been found working in a textile factory in conditions close to slavery to produce clothes that appear destined for Gap Kids, one of the most successful arms of the high street giant.
Speaking to The Observer, the children described long hours of unwaged work, as well as threats and beatings.
In reading the main stream American press accounts of the Congo elections in which the loser filed a challenge to the outcome, it was as if I were having a flash back to the 2000 presidential elections in the United States.
One former rebel who lost the election “filed a lawsuit Saturday claiming he was cheated of millions of votes” Does that sound familiar to anyone reading (…)

There are walks and ribbons to create awareness for autism. Parents support groups have formed all over the country. Schools have had to focus on the needs of the growing number of students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. This debilitating, neurological disorder seems (…)
