CRAWFORD - Cindy Sheehan has received a letter of support from Karl W. B. Schwarz, a former Republican, who earlier this year announced his independent candidacy for President, subject to the 2008 election.

Schwarz is author of the book "One Way Ticket to Crawford, Texas."

He wrote to Sheehan: "I have been watching with admiration your brave stand against President Bush and his refusal, and even fear, of speaking with any of the persons who have lost loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan on the basis of his lies.

"If I were president I would speak with you because you and every other American that has lost a son or daughter, or husband or wife, deserves to know the truth. They deserve to know the truth that their loved ones were sent into harm’s way on the basis of a lie. I can think of nothing more despicable than sending our troops into death or being maimed on the basis of a lie, and underlying that lie is just pure unadulterated greed.

"Bush and his handlers do not wish to speak with you or others because they fear that Bush will get cornered and the entire world would suddenly see him as the despicable liar that he is. Bush and his handlers do not want to lose control of the web of lies they alone have spun and have them be seen to be what they truly are.

"My son was in Iraq from April 5, 2004 until March 11, 2005. I remember all too well the sleepless nights knowing that my only child was in harm’s way, due to Bush lies.

"They are not great leaders or great Americans; they are the ugly face of America that is hated more passionately with each passing day both here and abroad. I see them and their wealthy elite backers as Financial Terrorists, the root cause of all terrorism.

"What is driving most of the insurgency is the Bush privatization of Iraq assets (oil, gas, water, electricity, communications, etc.) into the hands of Bush campaign backers. My son was in headquarters and now knows that one man’s insurgent is another man’s patriot.

"The Bush Administration does not want Americans to know about Bridas Corporation, or that this Argentine oil company had control of the Trans Afghanistan Pipeline, or TAP, that we now control by use of military force. Bush does not want you and other Americans to know that as of Sept. 11, 2001, the only remaining obstacle of U.S. control of that pipeline and being able to get the Caspian Basin oil and gas to the oceans, was an agreement between Bridas Corporation and the Taliban.

"Bush does not want you and other Americans to know that 9-11 was an excuse, a staged and premeditated attack on this nation by certain parties in this nation, so they could attack and take over what is now over $14 trillion in oil on the basis of current prices in the Caspian and more in Iraq. They had to have that pipeline and would not joint venture with Bridas. They had to have a distraction (Iraq) so America would not be watching Afghanistan too closely. Three thousand dead Americans on 9-11 was miniscule to them in comparison to how much oil they could take over.

"Bush and his minions do not want you and other Americans to know that Bridas Corporation won its interference of contract lawsuit in our Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, New Orleans, LA, on Sept. 9, 2003. Bush and his handlers do not want you and other Americans to know that on March 22, 2004, the United States Supreme Court let the Fifth Circuit decision stand, case number 03-1018.

"Even as far back as the Clinton Administration, certain parties were working to interfere with Bridas Corporation in Turkmenistan, the north end of the TAP. They were also working to undermine the south end of that pipeline by upending the Pakistan government.

"Then we get the Imperial Bush, a man who thinks he is above the law and any lie can be told. A leader who does not understand and refuses accountability, or simple decency, or capable of telling the truth, or a man brave enough to face you. I see him as a very little man and I am ashamed as an American that he brings such dishonor to us all. I am no longer a Republican because I do not wish to affiliate with anyone who would hold up high such conduct as I see in George W. Bush.

"Yes, Cindy, I would speak with you and consider it an honor if I were president for it would be the right thing to do. However, I cannot remember the last time I saw anyone in the Bush family do the right thing. I for one do not hold them up high as the All American family they hold themselves up to be.

"I admire your courage for you are truly the type of American that deserves respect. You have my respect and my support if you want it.

"God bless you for standing up for your son and all others who have suffered needless loss in the name of American greed. Your loss is the loss of all of us due to how it happened.

"With best regards,

"Karl W. B. Schwarz"
