Can someone compose a listing of media ownership?
by Open-Publishing - Tuesday 16 November 20047 comments
We need a clear concise list of what media outlets are independently owned that is easily accessible to people fed up with corporate propaganda machines.
Not to mention it whould be wonderful to be able to shift masses of subscriptions, readers, and viewers to the more deserving ones. While we’re at it, let the owners know what we’re doing and that we’ll dust them off too if they sell to the corps.
Whap the bad ones in the wallet, the only thing they understand.

See: http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/
This at least will tell you which ones *aren’t* independent, and who does own
them.

No comprehensive list, but here’s one to add to the list your compiling.
Oldest RUNNING paper in the US. The NH gazette. They aren’t afraid to report what’s behind the "news"....not much money...all volunteer now.
Check out the history on this paper too, makes you feel truely patriotic, unlike the hate spew or distraction from the corporate lap dogs.
