EVIL IDEOLOGY

By Peter Fredson

July 18, 2005

Newspapers today reported an extension of the Christian Morality Play by Tony Blair that explains everything people have been eagerly awaiting to hear about the Iraq war, terrorism and assorted suicide bombings. Here is the genial theory in a nutshell:

“ASSOCIATED PRESS 2005-07-17 07:09:54”
“LONDON — Prime Minister Tony Blair warned yesterday that an "evil ideology" of Islamic extremism was bent on spreading terror through the West, and authorities on three continents widened investigations into the London terrorist bombings, in which the number of people confirmed dead rose to 55.”
"The greatest danger is that we fail to face up to the nature of the threat that we’re dealing with," he said. "And what we are confronting here is an evil ideology . . . It is a battle of ideas, of hearts and of minds, both within Islam and outside it."

Evidently many of us were wrong about the reasons for terrorism. It wasn’t about lying to start a war, it wasn’t about Weapons of Mass Destruction, it wasn’t about Saddam Hussein having nuclear weapons and pilotless planes with which he was actively threatening to level parts of Crawford, Texas.

It wasn’t about the First Bush before the Gulf War or about his corporate cronies putting bases into the Middle East, or selling poison gas to Saddam or about any act of aggression or insolence on the part of the corporate allies. It wasn’t about any of the grievances of Osama bin Laden. It certainly wasn’t about any grandiose pronouncements about dominating the world made by the Bush Neoconservatives.

No, it is about illogical, unreasoning, loony ravings of Muslim malcontents misled by their sacred book and false god, not to mention crazy Mullahs with long beards and funny black robes. You see, you just can’t talk to those people. They are fundamentalists, like the Taliban, in which they try to impose their religion on the rest of the world.

They are so brain-washed by their sacred books, by their preachers, that they will not admit any logical discussion. They are ultra-sensitive, and the slightest perception of insult to their religion will set them off permanently. They will quote from their sacred book at any opportunity and take seriously the ravings of their prophet Mohammed.

So, it’s not our invading Iraq, it not about Shock and Awe killing thousands of “collaterals.” It’s not the cruise missiles, tanks, mortars, grenades, or the automatic weapons which have destroyed large parts of Iraqi cities. It’s not about foreign troops holding weapons at the ready, knocking down doors and houses, lobbing shells at any place they wish, killing and maiming people.

It’s not even about our stealing their oil, converting it to our own use, and generously giving it to one of the most corrupt corporations in the world, once led by our Vice-President. It’s not about our installing over a dozen air-bases for permanent occupation. It’s not about our installing a fake administration, and giving a fake sovereignty for fake freedom and fake democracy.

Nothing is our fault. We admit nothing, apologize for nothing. We’re just good old frat-boys. We just want to rule the world and what’s wrong with that?

No, it’s those illogical, unreasoning, loony and raving people, over there. They hate us. They are EVIL personified. And, believe me, Bush knows evil. Blair too knows evil because he has talked to Bush about it.

So rest easy and get set for ten, twenty or thirty years of illogical insurgency, of thugs that somehow will give their lives (which Bush and his cowardly cabinet will not do willingly) for their beliefs.

Bush says it’s worth it, and that should satisfy the most skeptical of his critics. Right?

  • Right! I mean, an ex-alcoholic who talks to God and regularly gets a reply, is, of course, the best of all possible sources of truth and righteousness. Or is it more a case of, it takes one to know one...?

  • Peter, maybe your too old to remember things anymore, or too young to know they happened. Or maybe you are to lazie to do your homework on history. Either way you, as with all the rest of the ‘anti-war” crowd, can not seem to make your points and arguments using truth. You and your cronies have to color it with mistruth to try and make your points. I think you even believe some to the mistruth you tout. Which like Islam, is another self-deluding ideally.

First: Long before Islamic insurgent’s “terrorists” started making headlines the past 20 years, and increasingly the last 4, which you limit your argument too. Islam as been terrorizing other civilizations for the past 1350 years. Muslims would have YOU believe that it all started with the “crusaders” and it is their fault.. Well if you believe that you are not doing your own homework. The crusade came about as a direct result of the Islamic insurgency (that was very violent) forced on Europe. The crusade was organized to stop these Islamic terrorists at that time in history. You don’t have to believe me, you have access to the internet, do your own home work.

Second: Islam has always been 100% dedicated to creating a one-world government state under Islamic rule by its clerics. That 100% dedication started 1350 years ago and remains exactly the same today. Again, you don’t have to believe me, you have access to the internet, do your own home work.

Third: To use the current state of the Islamic world’s terrorist position, and to try to compress all of Islamic aggressive history into the Iraq war is not logical. The war has only uncovered the terrorist ideality for the rest of the world to see. The scope and range of Islamic terrorism stretches back 1350 years. Their cause and objective has not changed. The main difference today is that the Islamic insurgency “terrorists” now have access to oil cash, modern transportation and communication. That is the only reason they are ever so much more present on todays world stage. But make no mistake, they have always been on this course of action through out history and they always will in the future. Making the exceuse for them that it is centered on the Iraqi war places you under self-delusion. Do your homework.

Forth: The mistruth in your piece does not hold water, (or should I say “oil”). The West did not, and does not, steal oil from the Middle East. It was in fact the West who help them (at their request) tap their enormous wealth. If you drive a car then you know we pay deadly for it.

Fifth: When you say, “Evidently many of us were wrong about the reasons for terrorism”. In response to that I would like say that is the most intelligent sentences in your piece.

In closing: Muslims have already decided what to do with Jesus Christ. Question is what are you going to do with Him?

  • I find it quite disturbing to see how ignorant you are peter. Remember 9/11, why did that happen then? Well it couldn’t be the coalition in iraq because it hadn’t happened yet, couldn’t have been the afgan war because oh that hadn’t happened yet. So your argument of stealing oil and astarting wars is invalid due to the fact that the first guf war came about because of Iraq invading another country or did you not realise that? These evil people refered to by the PM are not all muslims as you seem so ready to say, but fanatic who use religion as an excuse to attack innocent people without warning. The iraq war had about a months warning, the people knew it was coming and did you see the people when the statue fell? They looked happy, unless you think shouting and cheering and smiling is something people do when they are upset that about a tyranical leader has been removed.
