Trade-Exchange Rates USA South/Latin America Mary MacElveen

by Mary MacElveen

Many have emailed me that stating that I hate United States and nothing can be farther from the truth ... I love my country, just not its government.

On many occasions through writing for VHeadline.com, I have told my readers in the United States how their own damn government was their enemy and not President Hugo Chavez.

On several occasions, I have written favorable comments when it comes to Congressman Ron Paul of Texas. In my eyes, he is very much the patriot. Yes, he is a Republican, but taking that political label away, he is looking out for the best interests of us all. He is one of those elected officials that actually does give a damn ... but how are you the readers to know this, should VHeadline.com fade to black?

I do not see his patriotic policy speeches being printed in the mainstream press which are the ones that are deathly afraid that you will find out the truth of what is going on within this country.

With the United States planning the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) superhighway that will run straight through Texas, this is what Congressman Ron Paul had to say: "Even more troubling are reports that under this new ’partnership,’ a massive highway is being planned to stretch from Canada into Mexico, through the state of Texas. This is likely to cost the US taxpayer untold billions of dollars, will require eminent domain takings on an almost unimaginable scale, and will make the US more vulnerable to those who seek to enter our country to do us harm."

Is the mainstream press reporting these set of facts to you?

Um, no ... they have been literally doing wall-to-wall coverage on the arrest of John Karr who stated that he murdered JonBenet Ramsey. Now as we all have witnessed, they have a lot of crow eating to do since the DNA found on her body did not match that of John Karr. The prosecutors in Boulder, Colorado have now dropped the charges against John Karr.

This is exactly the reason why you must support VHeadline.com in order to fill in the void so that all will know how their government is working against them. As you read Congressman Ron Paul’s statement, how can you stand by and allow homes owned by your fellow Americans to be seized for the greed and power that is the very bedrock that drives this government?

As we commemorate the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, this superhighway is the ultimate hurricane that will spell disaster for millions of hard working Americans. While the mainstream press vilifies President Hugo Chavez and his socialist reform, we at VHeadline.com have reported to you our readers who the real villains are ... and that is the Bush administration and those elected officials that support him.

As Americans are feared into complicity and have reacted by demanding that the United States government secure its borders, Congressman Ron Paul rightly states that it will make us more vulnerable to those that will wish to harm us.

Why isn’t the mainstream press reporting his warnings? They are cowards!

In a piece written for my personal blog in which I called Bush America’s natural disaster when it came to his response to Hurricane Katrina, a reader by the name of Theresa emailed me "All that money from the Congress to help the people of N.O. But who got it? Halliburton. This administration is overriding Congress and that is a bad, bad thing. We must send an accountant from now on to make sure, this bunch of rats don’t get their hands on it. We are already in debt to our eyeballs. Will we ever pull out?"

Theresa’s concerns of the lack of congressional oversight can be found in Ron Paul’s latest policy speech in which he stated "What is a ’dialogue’? We don’t know. What we do know, however, is that Congressional oversight of what might be one of the most significant developments in recent history is non-existent. Congress has had no role at all in a ’dialogue’ that many see as a plan for a North American union."

* Theresa’s concerns of the billions of dollars that were misdirected and paid to Halliburton, can also be found as Ron Paul stated of this superhighway that it will likely "to cost the US taxpayer untold billions of dollars"

To answer Theresa, on whether or not we will pull out of this dangerous debt that is hanging over the heads of the US taxpayer ... as long as megalomaniacs like Bush control the federal government, the answer is NO. Unless congress gets back to work and stops him, the answer is NO. Unless there is true congressional oversight, the answer is also NO.

* As you will clearly see these are NOT the works of President Hugo Chavez ... but your own damn government. He has angrily raised his concerns of how this corruption and criminality will affect millions of Americans, yet he is vilified for doing so?

When President Chavez has stated of the US government that it is "imperialistic," this is a prime example of the imperial power that the US government has over its people. We elected these officials to serve our needs, and not to destroy a freedom loving people. This is exactly what the mainstream press is NOT reporting to you ... but we who write for VHeadline.com are.

Where in the hell are the NY Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal or the cable news networks reporting these set of facts to the American people.

* They are complicit and are not willing to stand up to this federal government that is destroying this country.

The only one that I have seen that has had the guts to angrily go up against this federal government is Lou Dobbs ... he is one of those rare journalists who will grab his viewers and shake the truth into them ... he has angrily gone up against this administration as they plan this NAFTA superhighway. As he reports of this superhighway, one can see the anger coming from him.

Those journalists that are complicit with the acts of tyranny being forced on the American people such a Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and a whole host of others are truly your enemy.

In a previous piece I asked those who read VHeadline.com if they were ostriches or eagles. Will you be an ostrich sticking your head in the sand as your government destroys your very destiny as a free people? Or will you soar like an eagle to reclaim what freedoms you have left.

In sounding the alarm to all that will hear him, this is what Ron Paul is also stating of this superhighway, "Critics of NAFTA and CAFTA warned at the time that the agreements were actually a move toward more government control over international trade and an eventual merging of North America into a border-free area. Proponents of these agreements dismissed this as preposterous and conspiratorial. Now we see that the criticisms appear to be justified."

As an unpaid journalist, I am the one reporting what he has said to all of you and not the mainstream press in the United States whose journalists are handsomely paid.

This is exactly what I along with other writers here at VHeadline.com have been reporting to you.

This is why we are in need of any donation large or small to help us continue to report what is not being reported.

We need you as much as you need us ... it is a symbiotic relationship, folks!

To my detractors who will state that I hate my country ... if I did hate it so, would I be reporting what a brave and patriotic Congress member is saying to us all? No, I would just sit back, say nothing and let the chips fall where they may.

Silence is often the most destructive force that will take down any country and we who write for VHeadline.com will not be silenced. Should this e-publication fade to black, we will not silenced, and will go out with the moral fortitude to fight for what we believe to be right.

I will leave you now with some brave quotes by past patriotic Americans and ones that do inspire me to keep doing what I do best and that is to report to you what is not being reported by the mainstream press in the United States.

"It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority."—Benjamin Franklin

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear" —Harry S Truman

"I think now as much or more than ever, Americans need hard-news reporting - particularly hard-news reporting about foreign affairs and how their government works," —Dan Rather in a Newsday article (June 16, 2006)

"When the people are afraid of the government, that’s tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that’s liberty." —Thomas Jefferson

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." —Republican President Theodore Roosevelt

And here is one of my favorite quotes by the late President John F. Kennedy: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable" Now, let me ask you a question, if this quote came from President Hugo Chavez, what exactly do you think the main stream press would report of him had he stated these very words?

Search your souls for that answer...
