Making war against nation states and their people no longer works. Unstable and undemocratic countries are usually controlled by individuals and cabals against whom military force ends up harming their own domestic victims more than the entrenched leadership, and new regimes offer little improvement. Destroying the infrastructure of a nation to turn its people against their "leadership" fails, as in Iraq, resulting in the deaths of thousands of innocent children. Targeting "insurgents" using (…)

8 October 1967: Poster boy (videos)
8 October 2013His face has become an iconic image, used both as a symbol of protest and a fashion accessory. Richard Gott traces the story of Korda’s photo of Che Guevara
The famous photograph of Che Guevara snapped by Alberto Korda in 1960 has circulated throughout the globe in the past half century, endlessly reproduced in increasingly exotic forms, each created with different intentions and evoking varied responses. Jesus Christ, Madonna, Princess Diana have all had their picture adapted and inserted (…) -

Highly GHG polluting Australia, Canada & US default on & expand Carbon Debt
4 October 2013The world has a terminal greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution budget (global Carbon Credit) that must not be exceeded if we are to avoid a catastrophic 2C temperature rise. Unfortunately, the US, Australia and Canada have effectively used up their “fair shares” of this budget, are now stealing the Carbon Credit of other countries and are threatening the world with climate catastrophe.
The worsening climate crisis means that the world has to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution and eventually (…) -
Rapprochement with US Reinforces Iran Hand in Iraq
2 October 2013By Nicola Nasser*
Iran seems successful in turning the Iraqi “strategic” agreement with the US into a tactical one, while it is succeeding in turning its own tactical accords with Iraq into a strategic bondage of the country.
The burgeoning US-Iran rapprochement will only reinforce this trend to reinforce Iran hand in Iraq.
Therefore, none seems more jubilant than Iraq by the latest indications of rapprochement between the United States and Iran and none seems more on alert to see it (…) -

Mr President,
It’s been more than fifteen years since the F.B.I. arrested in Miami the members of the Avispa network, among them Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, and René González, known as “The Cuban Five”. If René González has done his time, as for his four compatriots, they are still under lock and key!
On May 27th, 2005, the Working Group on Arbitrary (…) -
This Way
1 October 2013This article is the foreword to David Swanson’s new book, War No More: The Case for Abolition.
I lived in Iraq during the 2003 Shock and Awe bombing. On April 1st, about two weeks into the aerial bombardment, a medical doctor who was one of my fellow peace team members urged me to go with her to the Al Kindi Hospital in Baghdad, where she knew she could be of some help. With no medical training, I tried to be unobtrusive, as families raced into the hospital carrying wounded loved ones. At (…) -
WILL THEY EVER TELL THE TRUTH ?
1 October 2013Will our government ever the Truth ? .... Ever ? Maybe once ? ......I am not interested in engaging in a rhetorical screed against the United States .......Rather it is those low denizens in high places within our government that hate the American people ... Why do they refuse to tell the truth - particularly in the grave matter of sending our military forces into combat ? Examples abound 1 ) The US staged- managed the Gulf of Tonkin incident Result : .... (…)

29 September 2013Freud condemning knowingly his sisters to death ? A very bad novel.
by french historian Elisabeth Roudinesco Le Monde, literary supplement, September 20th 2013.
Macedonian writer into Gender Studies, Goce Smilevski states in his latest novel about an alleged known episode in the life of Sigmund Freud to show that the founder of psychoanalysis was a misogynistic pervert, fascinated by Nazism, obsessed with money and masturbation : in short, a repulsive character.
To do so, he built a (…) -
Huge Carbon Debt vs Carbon Credit, intergenerational equity & global justice
29 September 2013The myth of neoliberalism claims trickle down benefits for the masses from maximizing freedom of the smart and advantaged to exploit natural resources. The neoliberals ignore the worsening problem of Carbon Debt due to pollution of the world’s one common atmosphere with CO2 that can now be estimated at a value of $127 trillion or roughly 2 years of global GDP.
Top climate scientists and biologists say that a safe and sustainable existence for all peoples and all species on our (…)
