Attack-Terrorism Governments USA UK Mary MacElveen

by Mary MacElveen

At this point, I want to knock some sense into the mainstream media for playing Bush and Blair’s game and that is the game of terror and fear.

These so-called news organizations that are read and viewed by millions are now coming out with disturbing facts concerning this alleged terror plot that would have blown ten airplanes headed to the United States out of the skies.

In fact, I’m ripping mad that they would play with the lives of innocent people and those that played this dangerous game deserve to be soundly spanked.

If any within the news media helped spread this fear and were complicit with both of these governments ignoring the facts, they deserve to be investigated and those that did partake in it, fired immediately.

I have just read an MSNBC article that states "NBC News has learned that US and British authorities had a significant disagreement over when to move in on the suspects in the alleged plot to bring down trans-Atlantic airliners bound for the United States."

Okay, there was a disagreement when to move in on these suspects...

Well how about both governments get on the same damn page before releasing any information to the news media?

How about the mainstream media does a little fact checking before frightening the flying public.

If anything, the governments of the USA, the UK and the mainstream media are just as guilty of terror ... all placed an unwarranted fear into all of us and shame on them. I will go into what is unwarranted fear a bit later in this editorial.

The British police were planning to continue this surveillance for at least another week and, according to this article, their hand was forced by "American officials pressured them to arrest the suspects sooner."

If that is the case, then why speed up these arrests?

Since this case was being handled by the British police, the American government shouldn’t have had a say in the timing of these arrests. Then again, America has forgotten the rule of law when due process was thrown out the window due to the Patriot Act. At this point we are still holding alleged terrorists at Guantanamo Bay.

* I am literally about to scream as I read in previous reports "the official suggested an attack was not imminent ... saying the suspects had not yet purchased any airline tickets. In fact, some did not even have passports."

There are no words to adequately describe my outrage at this one ... while inflicting terror on a public, and while I hate to defend corporations, many cancellations occurred affecting the business practices of the airline industry. Entire airports were put on alert, straining the resources of security personnel and all are supposed to just accept this? Even mothers are being forced to drink their baby’s formula before security personnel.

I would literally love to see a collective public, airline industry, airport managements and security personnel hand both Bush and Blair their heads for this one.

Ah, but Newsweek Magazine just completed a security poll as reported in Reuters ... they cite that Bush’s new approval ratings (when it comes to security) now stands at 55% due to this terror plot ... I zeroed in on this "The poll was taken Thursday and Friday, after British authorities foiled a plot to use chemical bombs to bring down as many as 10 airliners flying from Britain to the United States."

Now this is where I really get angry, folks.

Why is Bush getting the credit when "British authorities foiled the plot."?

Let’s be real here, my fellow Americans.... Give credit where it is rightfully due and hand that approval rating over to the British police. Let’s see, Bush was again on vacation ... giving a tough talk ... calling Islamics names ... and he deserves a 55% approval rating?

Wake up, people! This has Karl Rove written all over it!

Now here is something to further your outrage ... More Sky Terror clearly states "According to knowledgeable sources in the UK and other countries, the Tony Blair government (under siege by a Labor Party revolt), cleverly cooked up a new "terror" scare to avert the public’s eyes away from Blair’s increasing political woes."

Their words, not mine, but I would not put it past Blair to do so. After all, he is Bush’s puppet.

One reason for the delay according to this article was to "maximize the beneficial political impact for Blair and George W. Bush, both plummeting in the polls from the situations in Iraq and Lebanon."

Both men do not deserve any benefit from this alleged terror plot.

I call it alleged since right now, I do not trust either the Bush or Blair governments when it comes to telling the public the truth. We have been lied to on so many occasions that both men should be forcibly removed from office for putting this planet in harms way.

* Do Americans and Brits still remember the lies told them both to engage us in the illegal war in Iraq?

According to the Downing Street Memo, both fixed the intelligence to mesh with their plans on invading a guiltless country. As a result innocent men, women and children have died as a result.

Why give both Bush and Blair any benefit of any doubt?

How many American and British soldiers died as a result of Bush and Blair’s lies?

Now, I want to speak to all of you concerning unwarranted fear ... there are many who have felt that Bush has put us all into an unwarranted fear and done so with the complicity of the mainstream media.

But, I would like to take you back to the summer of 1998 when Andrew Cunanan (who the media erroneously labeled a serial killer) went on a spree killing ... the media terrified a nation. Cunanan murdered Gianni Versace, yet the media did a bang-up job stating that we all were targets where clearly we were not. That is an unwarranted fear. During this time, a man by the name of Gavin De Becker came out stating the difference between warranted fear and an unwarranted one. He even wrote the book, “The Gift of Fear” in which he comforted this nation by telling us all the difference.

During these past five years in the aftermath of 9/11, I have not seen him on any news program. If any of you have, please let me know. Perhaps the media did not want him going against Bush’s fear message.

From his book: “We all know there are plenty of reasons to fear people from time to time. The question is what are those times? Far too many people are walking around in a constant state of vigilance, their intuition misinformed about what really poses a danger. It needn’t be so. When you honor accurate intuitive signals and evaluate them without denial (believing that either the favorable or the unfavorable outcome is possible), you need not be wary, for you will come to trust that you’ll be notified if there is something worthy of your attention. Fear will gain credibility because it won’t be applied wastefully.”

So, I beg the question, hasn’t the Bush administration along with the media over spent the fear capital? I wonder how many here in America are actually feeling a sense of fear or blase right now due to recent events in London? My initial response was indifference and now seeing it come apart, I am livid.

Where Mr. De Becker cites: “Fear will gain credibility because it won’t be applied wastefully,” it goes to the very heart of the constant changing of colors by the Homeland Security Agency. When this alleged terror plot was first reported and our color code was raised to red, well I am now seeing red. Through that action, they have wastefully applied credible fears, keeping us all in a constant state of vigilance or, as Mr. De Becker has stated, unwarranted fear.

At this point, I see both Bush and Blair as the men or boys that cried wolf. Most likely there is a real and true credible threat that will come after those in the West. One that does warrant true fear, due to these government’s heinous actions in the Middle East. They will release this information, but will the public buy it this time when we have seen alerts such as this fall apart before our eyes? That is when we are in true danger because the public no longer has confidence in those that lead them.

When a terrorist threat like this one is now coming apart at the seams, it leaves the door open when a real plot that is about to be carried out, will be ignored.

How many terrorists now see this as an opportunity due to Bush and Blair’s stupidity?

At that point, both Bush and Blair have just helped the real terrorist murder innocent people.
