Both Peter King and Joe Lieberman must be forced to answer to these war crimes

October 21, 2006

In the closing days before these midterm elections, I have two politicians in my sights. One is Congressman Peter King (R 3rd Cong. Dist., NY) and the other is Senator Joe Lieberman (D (?) of Conn.) for their unbridled support of Bush and the whole-sale slaughter of innocent Iraqis.

I recently wrote in a previous column for VHeadline.com As a result this horrifying news report came out this morning stating that 655,000 Iraqis died. A few months ago, Bush stated the numbers at 30,000. This exceeds the numbers given to us by Bush by far. While Bush has rejected these numbers citing General Tommy Franks, General Tommy Franks of US Central Command said: "We don’t do body counts."

Also to counter Bush’s assertion of the number of Iraqi’s killed "this article states "The US and Britain have long insisted they have not recorded Iraqi death figures."

I have also written in the past that these innocent Iraqis are suffering a 9/11 event on a daily basis since Bush’s invasion of that sovereign country through the ‘Shock and Awe’ campaign. Do we as Americans think that we are the only ones that suffer acts of terrorism? Well get over it! This is the terror we have brought upon the Iraqi people and men like King and Lieberman promote it. They must be punished for it.

With the recent passage by congress and the signing into law by Bush ‘The Military Commissions Act of 2006’ “legalizes U.S. war crimes committed before December 30, 2005” Would anyone consider the slaughter of 655,000 innocent Iraqis as being a war crime? This is what the main stream press is not telling their readers. These readers will be the very ones that will vote and it is time that these voters wake up. It is time that the mainstream press stops shielding Americans from the hard core truth about their actions. More importantly the actions of Bush, King and Lieberman.

As we all know Bush lied to the American people, the United States congress and to the world that this country had WMDs when in fact it did not. He cited that Iraq had a direct connection to 9/11 in which they did not. He cited that Iraq was trying to purchase weapons grade uranium from Niger and Joe Wilson (Husband of Valerie Plame who was a CIA operative outed by the Bush administration in an act of revenge) discredited Bush.

If this column does find its way to those that vote in Connecticut and in the 3rd Congressional district on Long Island, aren’t you tired of being lied to?

Both King and Lieberman have also used our military in which the casualty rate continues to rise. It is so easy for them to sit in their plush offices, smile to the cameras as our men and women in the armed services continue to die.

I want to reach out to those that will vote in the 3rd congressional district in New York as well as those that will vote in Connecticut. Let it be known that there was NO formal declaration for the war in Iraq by the United States congress.

I recently wrote of our actions in Iraq and how it is illegal and it was picked up by New York Public Radio in which I have stated of these illegal actions “His (Bush’s) presidency has certainly become the imperial presidency when he can override congress and send our military into battle in Iraq. As I was researching the Iraq War Resolution, what most should know is that it is not a legal war and it is unconstitutional. I was astonished as I read this article which states "A resolution is merely a sense of the body ... like taking a poll. In this case it gave the President a bargaining chip, making clear to Saddam Hussein that our government meant business. But it’s not a Declaration of War. Any Congressional resolution that allows the President to act without the authority granted him in the Constitution is clearly unconstitutional, and thus null and void."

In my angst in reading that Lieberman has opened up a sizable lead over Ned Lamont, I wrote the Lamont campaign this email “I have read that Joe has opened up a sizable lead over Lamont and I think that this is the time to take off the gloves. This is where politics sickens me as innocent babies in Iraq are dying. Maybe the people in Connecticut need a wake up call of what this war in Iraq has done to innocent babies. What I speak of are children that are disfigured due to our use of Depleted Uranium. Mothers that are pregnant are scared to death of giving birth and this is all Joe’s fault.

Perhaps using images such as the ones you will see by clicking on this link, you can somehow use to fight back? Sometimes I really want to shake the soccer moms and those that are far too busy driving to the mega malls in their SUVs while children like this suffer. Also, we wonder why we are hated by the Muslims when we can do this to innocent children. By the way, DU has a half life of 4.5 billion years. That was Joe’s gift that will keep on giving to the innocent people in Iraq as well as our soldiers who are also affected by our use of DU. NO body armor in the world can protect them from DU.

Also, you may wish to view this feed called Poisonous Legacy. Again, Joe did this to these babies by supporting Bush. This was bringing these innocent children freedom and democracy? Me, I would love to exile, Joe Lieberman to Iraq for the rest of his life for doing this.

In all of this, I do not want to leave out how this illegal invasion by an occupying force affects our men and women in the armed services. They too are innocents being used as political pawns in a deadly game of chess.

Some DU munitions have been found to contain traces of Plutonium, which is the most toxic substance we know of. Its half-life is approximately 4.5 billion years, meaning that in that amount of time half of it will have broken down. DU is ingested when soldiers or civilians come into contact with it.

Six American vehicles struck with DU ’friendly fire’ in 1991 were deemed to be too contaminated to take home and were buried in Saudi Arabia. Of 16 more brought back to a purpose-built facility in South Carolina, six had to be buried in a low-level radioactive waste dump.

If both King and Lieberman do support our soldiers, let them read this, a standard anti-tank round, once fitted with a DU rod, can penetrate even the thickest armor, reducing the quantity of high explosive needed. Instead of merely glancing off the protective shield of the tank, DU will literally punch a hole through the thick armor, making it much easier to disable tanks and other heavy weaponry at longer ranges.

To bring the ravages of this illegal invasion by an occupying force home to all that will read this, below are pictures instead of links to them of how DU affects not only babies in Iraq, but how they affect the offspring of our soldiers.

(Images imbedded that cannot be viewed here)

These by far are the more tamers ones that I have seen. As a columnist, what I do ask from you that do read this is get this column into the hands of those that will vote in the 3rd Congressional district on Long Island and to those that will vote in Conneticut.

Both King and Lieberman must be forced to answer to these war crimes.

  • Our country, under the direction of Bush & Co., has violated principles established at Nuremberg, by the Charter of the United Nations, by the International Criminal Court, by the Geneva Conventions, by our Constitution, by the US Uniform Code of Military Justice, and as affirmed by millions of peace loving Americans and other peoples world wide. Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and all the other war criminals, war profiteers, terrorists and conspirators in our government, abetted by a corrupt and unprincipled Congress, are guilty of waging an illegal war and of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Federal War Crimes Act of 1996 provides for the death penalty for these war criminals. These mass murderers must be tried, convicted, removed from office, taken off the street and confined to death row, if future government leaders are to be inhibited from committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

    • Only in a perfect world. bush will escape to Paraguay to his new 98000 acre "ranch". No republicans will be tried or convicted. And no Democrat will REPEAL the Military Commissions Act which allows TORTURE and suspends HABEAS CORPUS at the whim of the president.

Unless and until this Act is REPEALED, you can hang it up on the US Republic. We are no longer a country of Laws. We are a ROGUE NATION run by a DICTATOR.

  • Forced to answer for their war crimes? Yet you don’t think that Saddam Hussein should be forced to answer for his war crimes. Or the government of Sudan for genocide in Darfur. Your mindset reflects a patronizing racism that posits that any action is acceptable if it is a minority group doing it to themselves or in the case of Darfur for an Arab government to massacre black Africans. Why you can’t must 1/1000th the sympathy for these innocent victims that you do for the American response is beyond belief. If you had an iota of the moral courage of a Peter King or a Joe Lieberman you would support doing what is right and not what is expedient.
