Wars and conflicts International Australia

Australia has now withdrawn one third of Australian forces from the Iraq War, withdrawing 550 but leaving 1,000 to continue Australian participation in the Iraqi Holocaust, the Iraqi Genocide (2 million post-invasion Iraqi excess deaths, 4.5 million Iraqi refugees).

War criminal, anti-Arab anti-Semitic, racist White Australia remains committed to indefinite military occupation of Iraq - as if a whole ethnically cleansed continent and half of Antarctica were not enough for this greedy, thoughtless, racist nation of 21 million - mostly Europeans with an entrenched culture of anti-Asian xenophobia.

Comprehensive international Sanctions and Boycotts should surely be applied to stop continuing racist White Australian participation in mass murder of Indigenous Asians in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories - racist white Australia must be seen as the weak link in racist Anglo-American "democratic imperialism" (democratic tyranny, democratic Nazism).

The reason Australia is in Iraq is because it has a policy of supporting the US in all its post-1950 Asian wars (Indigenous Asian deaths totalling 25 million) in the hope that America will assist Australia if it is attacked by Asians (known in racist White Australia as “the yellow hordes”).

So far (apart from Japanese militarism in the 1940s, assisted with Australian “pig iron” supplied by notorious Australian politician and its longest-serving PM , racist, fascist, warmonger “Pig Iron” Bob Menzies) it is Australia and its Anglo-American allies who have been attacking and occupying Asian countries for 250 years.

The variously Australian-assisted British occupation of India alone was associated with 1.5 billion excess deaths in 2 centuries of sustained starvation and famine (see “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950” , G.M. Polya, Melbourne, 2007: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/137... and http://globalbodycount.blogspot.com/ ) .

In March 2003 loyal Bush US lackey, racist White Australia invaded the sovereign nation of Iraq after participating in a 12 year Sanctions War associated (together with 0.2 million violent deaths in the 1990-1001 Gulf War) in a total of 1.9 million violent and non-violent excess deaths (avoidable deaths, deaths that did not have to happen).

5 years later the post-invasion violent plus non-violent excess deaths in Occupied Iraq totalled 1.7 - 2.2 million as of March 2008. In addition one can estimate, 0.6 million post-invasion infant deaths (UNICEF) and 4.5 million Iraqi refugees (UNHCR).

The 1.7 million Sanctions excess deaths (1990-2003), 1.2 million under-5 infant deaths under Sanctions, 0.2 million Iraqi Gulf War deaths plus 2 million post-invasion excess deaths indicate that about 4 million Iraqis have died avoidably under Western attack and occupation in the period 1990-2008. There are 4.5 million refugees (see: http://www.brusselstribunal.org/Mes... ) .

This is an Iraqi Holocaust and an Iraqi Genocide as defined by Article 2 the UN Genocide Convention (see: http://www.edwebproject.org/sidesho... ) which states that “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: a) Killing members of the group; b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”

Mpst of the non-violent avoidable deaths derive from deprivation of the Occupied Iraqi people first under the Sanctions blockade and then under Occupation. Article 55 of the Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (see: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/92.htm ) states unequivocally that “To the fullest extent of the means available to it, the Occupying Power has the duty of ensuring the food and medical supplies of the population; it should, in particular, bring in the necessary foodstuffs, medical stores and other articles if the resources of the occupied territory are inadequate …” and Article 56 states “To the fullest extent of the means available to it, the Occupying Power has the duty of ensuring and maintaining, with the cooperation of national and local authorities, the medical and hospital establishments and services, public health and hygiene in the occupied territory, with particular reference to the adoption and application of the prophylactic and preventive measures necessary to combat the spread of contagious diseases and epidemics. Medical personnel of all categories shall be allowed to carry out their duties…”

The horrible reality is that according to WHO (see: http://www.who.int/en/) "annual total per capita medical expenditure" and "under-5 infant deaths per 1,000 live births" are $130 and 47 in Occupied Iraq versus $3,123 and 6 (Australia), $3,040, $2,560 and 6 (UK), and $6,096 and 8 ( USA) (evidence of “passive genocide” and gross violation of the Geneva Convention by the US, UK, Australia and other US allies).

Australia has been involved in egregious wear crimes in Occupied Iraq and must be called to account.

Indeed both the present extreme right wing Rudd Labor Australian Federal Government and the even more extreme right wing previous Coalition Australian Federal Government have admitted that “oil” was the reason for the invasion and occupation (a commodity that now costs 4 times more than it did pre-war) (see: http://www.wtrg.com/prices.htm ) .

The present Australian government has stated repeatedly that the invasion was based on incorrect intelligence – a reality that was made quite clear in the week or so before the invasion by a top Australian Intelligence official, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Wilkie who very publicly resigned his outstanding military and intelligence career in protest over the Government lying about “weapons of mass destruction” in Iraq (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew... ) .

I have made repeated formal complaints to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over Australian and UK-US war crimes in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories (see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/308... , http://mwcnews.net/content/view/221... and http://climateemergency.blogspot.co... ), noting that post-invasion excess deaths total 2 million and 3-7 million, respectively; post-invasion under-5 infant deaths total 0.6 million and 2.3 million, respectively; and refugees total 4.5 million and 4 million, respectively (see: http://www.liberalati.com/?q=node/261 ).

Now a group of group of Australian of peace activists, lawyers, academics and politicians is behind a formal legal brief, organized by the ICC Action group in Melbourne, sent to the International Criminal Court (ICC) alleging former prime minister John Howard committed a war crime by sending troops to Iraq. This brief has been supported by outstanding humanitarian Australian politician Senator Lyn Allison (recently given the prestigious award of Australian Humanist of the Year) (see: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/... ).

On the occasion of the withdrawal of one third of Australia forces from occupied Iraq, today he following home truths were sent in a letter sent essentially as follows to Australian media and politicians and global media.

LETTER

Dear Sir/Madam,

In his prescient novel “1984” George Orwell has Big Brother declare that “2 plus 2 does not equal 4”. In Australia in 2008 we see the same brain-numbing, manipulative, Bush-ite spin from the extreme right wing Rudd Labor Federal Government, for all its ostensibly plausible commitments to “evidence-based policy” and “measurement-based policy”.

Thus “Australian withdrawal from Iraq” in reality means “withdrawal of one third of Australian forces from the Iraq War theatre” (withdrawing 550, leaving 1,000 and firm commitment to indefinite involvement in the horrific, continuing Iraqi Genocide).

Similarly, Rudd Labor’s election commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution by “60% by 2050” while supporting coal exports in actuality means INCREASING Australia’s world-leading GHG pollution from fossil fuel consumption and exports by over 50% by 2050 (from linear extrapolation of US Energy Information Administration data).

A leading Australian newspaper reports on this Iraq “withdrawal” occasion that “91,000” Iraqis have been killed whereas even the US Puppet Government estimated 200,000 over 5 years and world-leading US epidemiologists, a US think tank Just Foreign Policy and the UK ORB company estimate over 0.9 million, 1.2 million and 1.4 million, respectively, over 5 years (also NON-reported in climate criminal and racist Australia: coal-burning pollution is estimated to kill over 6,000 Australians and 35,000 Americans annually and 9,000 Indigenous Australians die avoidably each year out of an Indigenous population of 0.5 million).

Post-invasion violent PLUS non-violent excess deaths in Occupied Iraq totalled 1.7 - 2.2 million as of March 2008. In addition one can estimate 1.7 million Sanctions excess deaths (1990-2003), 1.2 million under-5 infant deaths under Sanctions, 0.2 million Iraqi Gulf War deaths, 0.6 million post-invasion infant deaths (UNICEF) and 4.5 million Iraqi refugees (UNHCR) (for details and documentation see “Iraqi Genocide”: http://www.brusselstribunal.org/Mes... and “Climate Emergency, Sustainability Emergency”: http://climateemergency.blogspot.com/ ).

However the presently 4-fold increase in oil prices since the war criminal Australian invasion of Iraq may eventually inspire enough self-interested public indignation to ensure complete Australian and indeed Anglo-American withdrawal from the 2-decade Iraqi Holocaust.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Gideon Polya

END LETTER

Back in 2005 Australian Labor Leader of the Opposition Mr Kim Beazley somewhat reasonably said of those responsible for the London bombing atrocities (“home-grown terrorists very likely subverted by US and Israeli agents provacateurs): “These terrorists are subhuman filth who must be captured and eliminated” (ABC TV 7.30 Report, 22 August 2005:
http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/... ).

How then should we describe the Australians complicit in 4 million Iraqi deaths and the homelessness of a further 4.5 million Iraqis?

Sanctions were successful against the anti-African and anti-Indian Apartheid régime in South Africa for denying Africans and Indians one-man-one-vote.

Comprehensive international Sanctions and Boycotts should surely be applied to stop continuing racist White Australian participation in mass murder of Indigenous Asian men, women and children in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories.
