Video: Kathy Mattea Sings “Cool of the Day”

A huge and spirited rally demanding “Climate Justice,” was held in Washington, D.C., on March 2, 2009. In between speakers at the event, Ms. Kathy Mattea, a popular country and bluegrass performer and also a social activist, entertained the crowd. The stage was set up across the street from the Capitol Power Plant, which was the subject of the demonstration. One of the ballads, Ms. Mattea sang was “Cool of the Day,” written by Jean Ritchie. Ms. Mattea is a native of South Charleston, WV.
