The Radical Leftwing Alliance

The sit-in protest of the Radical Leftwing Alliance (Democratic Way), Solidarity for a Socialist Alternative, Option of the Democratic basic Leftwing) on 4th, April 2009 at 17 hours in front of parliament was brutally repressed causing many casualties among the militants and citizens.

This sit-in claims:

a) the satisfaction of social and union demands, respect for democratic freedoms and release political detainees rather than help the capitalist companies and repress social movements.

b) Freezing the neo-colonial agreements of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the rejection of all forms of security and military coordination with the Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO) and the condemnation of any attempt to facilitate foreign military bases reintroduction on the Moroccan territory and waters.

c) The failure of the embargo on the Palestinian people, the imposition to the Zionist entity of an economic and political blockade and to hold trial against that entity leaders as war criminals.

The Radical Leftwing Alliance, aware of the dangerous submission repercussions of the authorities in place in our country to the guidelines of the G20 and its financial and trade institutions that try to make the social classes and notably the working class supporting the capitalist crisis and that relations with NATO, the buckler of military imperialism under the USA egis, are infringing upon national sovereignty and constitute a security and stability threat to our Region:

a) Strongly condemns the savage repression of his sit-in,

b) Reaffirms that repression can only strengthen its resolution to persevere in defending the popular classes interests especially the working class ones and in rejecting all forms of security and military coordination with NATO and any military or security presence in our country.

c) Calls on all democratic forces to assume their responsibilities towards the escalating repression movement in our country and the deepening dependence of the regime in place on imperialism and its political, economic, security and military apparatuses.

d) Considers that the current stage requires more than ever before the unification of Moroccan Marxist forces in their struggle and in the way of their indispensable unity.
