Stop US and Zionist war, occupation, holocaust and genocide: make 4 July Independence From America Day.

The World must stop Neocon American and Zionist Imperialist (NAZI) occupation and genocide variously in Occupied Palestine, Occupied Syria, Occupied Haiti, Occupied Somalia, Occupied Iraq and Occupied Afghanistan. The World should make 4 July Independence From America Day.
We all know the great words of the 4 July 1776 American Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. However these words did not apply to American Indians or to African slaves then any more than they apply today to Indigenous People in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia or indeed in any part of the World under violent US hegemony. The World must make 4 July Independence From America Day.
These great words beloved of all decent folk today were an immense lie in 1776 and hid a major strategic objection of Independence for the Thirteen American Colonies: the invasion and ethnic cleansing of Indian lands to the West. Britain had been fighting the French for global hegemony in an 18th century repeat of the medieval Hundred Years War but which had a global reach, a veritable World War from India to North America. That war would only cease with the final defeat of Napoleonic France at Waterloo in 1815. As part of an anti-French strategy Britain had an Alliance with North American Indians and prevented the American colonists from expanding westwards toward French Louisiana. The Independence of the Thirteen Colonies was not just about tea and taxes – it enabled the conquest and ethnic cleansing of the US part of North America.
The Indian Genocide that had been ongoing since first European settlement in North America proceeded to new depths after 1776. The Andrew Jackson Indian Removal legislation of 1830 “legitimized” this genocide by actively forcing Indians to re-locate from East of the Mississippi and was of course eventually followed by Indian Genocide West of the Mississippi. But the United States of America didn’t stop there, moving south east to seize Mexican territories, and further east into the Pacific in the 19th century to seize Hawaii, Guam and Samoa. The Spanish American War took genocidal American violence to Asia with the horrendous, bloody conquest of the Philippines (in which 1 million Filipinos died) and enabled US appropriation of Puerto Rico and Cuba and establishment of violent hegemony over Central America and indeed Latin America. There were repeated US military interventions in Panama (1864-1989), Cuba (1898-1920), Dominican Republic (1916-1934), Haiti (US occupation forces 1919-1934) and Nicaragua (1912-1915) and the US “acquired” the Virgin Islands from Denmark (1917).
General Smedley Butler was a Major General in the U.S. Marine Corps, and at the time of his death the most decorated Marine in US history. During his 34-year career as a Marine, he participated in military actions in the Philippines, China, in Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars, and France in World War I (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smedle... ). This is US imperialism from the informed position of General Smedley Butler (1933) : “ War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses. I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we’ll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag. I wouldn’t go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket. There isn’t a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism. It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country’s most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service. I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested. During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents” (see: http://www.informationclearinghouse... ).
Just as the US Indian Genocide was prefaced by “all men are created equal”, the US seizure of Mexican territories by “remember the Alamo” and the Spanish American War by the mysterious blowing up of the USS Maine in Havana harbor, so the US entry into World War 1 was precipitated by the sinking of the arms embargo-violating passenger ship the Lusitania. Entry of the US into WW2 was precipitated by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor about which the US and UK had prior knowledge through the breaking of Japanese naval codes (see Rusbridger, J. and Nave, E., 1991, “Betrayal at Pearl Harbor. How Churchill Lured Roosevelt into World War II”, Summit, New York). While US wars took a bloody toll of civilians, most notably in the Indian Genocide and the Phillippines War, WW2 saw a new level of US violence towards enemy civilians culminating in the high technology firebombing of German and Japanese cities and the horrendous, unforgivable atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that killed 200,000 people.
In the post-WW2 era the US continued its now global violence in the Americas, Asia and Africa. Major post-war invasions and occupations by the US during the 1945-1990 Cold War period included Korean War (1950-1953; 3 million war-related deaths), the Indo-China War (1954-1975; war-related deaths in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos totaling 13 million; a greater tonnage of bombs was dropped on Laos than on Europe in WW2), Dominican Republic (1965), Cuba (1961; economic sanctions, 1964-present), El Salvador (US-backed coup, death squads and civil war, 1972-1992, 30,000 killed), Guatemala (via US-armed and backed military from Honduras, 1954-1990, 0.5 million refugees; Israeli assistance in the genocide of Guatemalan Indians), Nicaragua (via US-armed and backed Contras from Honduras, 1982-1990), Panama (1989), Grenada (1983), Columbia (US military involvement in the civil war since 1964), Afghanistan (Soviet invasion and US-backed resistance and civil war, 6.3 million deaths), the Balkans (bombing of Serbia, 1999), Diego Garcia (complete ethnic cleansing), Syrian Golan Heights (near-complete ethnic cleansing by US-backed, racist Zionist (RZ)-run Apartheid Israel) and Iran (overthrow of democracy, 1953-1979; military raid, 1979; backing Iraq in the Iran-Iraq War, 1979-1988, 1.5 million dead). The US armed and backed the Pakistan military that killed 3 million Bengalis and raped 0.3 million in the 1971-1972 Bengali Holocaust.
A major consequence of US occupation has been huge avoidable mortality from deprivation of civilian subjects that totals 82 million for such deaths in the 1950-2005 period. .Summarized here is data for 1950-2005 excess mortality/ 2005 population (both in millions, m) and expressed as a percentage (%); this ratio is given for the US, for each country occupied by the US in the post-1945 era (excepting Germany and Japan) and as a total for all the countries subject to US invasion and occupation post-1945. The asterisk (*) below indicates a major occupation by more than one country in the post-WW2 era: US [8.455m/300.038m = 2.8%] - Afghanistan* [16.609m/25.971m = 64.0%], Cambodia* [5.852m/14.825m = 39.5%], Dominican Republic [0.806m/8.998m = 9.0%], Federated States of Micronesia [0.016m/0.111m = 14.4%], Greece* [0.027m/10.978m = 0.2%], Grenada* [0.018m/0.121m = 14.9%], Guam [0.005m/0.168m = 3.0%], Haiti* [4.089m/8.549m = 47.9%], Iraq* [5.283m/26.555m = 19.9%], Korea* [7.958m/71.058m = 11.2%], Laos* [2.653m/5.918m = 44.8%], Panama [0.172m/3.235m = 5.3%], Philippines [9.080m/82.809m = 11.0%], Puerto Rico [0.039m/3.915m = 1.0%], Somalia* [5.568m/10.742m = 51.8%], US Virgin Islands [0.003m/0.113m = 2.4%], Vietnam* [24.015m/83.585m = 28.7%], total = 82.193m/357.651m = 23.0% (see Gideon Polya, “Body Count. Of course in addition to explicit invasion and devastation, the US engaged in covert terrorist violence and subversion around the world as set out in books such as William Blum’s “Rogue State”, John Perkins’ “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man”, and Phillip Agee’s “Inside the Company. CIA Diary”. According to Professor Jules Dufour (President of the United Nations Association of Canada (UNA-C) – Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean branch and Research Associate at the Center for Research on Globalization (CRG), Emeritus Professor of Geography at the University of Quebec, Chicoutimi): “US strategists, in an attempt to justify their military interventions in different parts of the World, have conceptualised the greatest fraud in US history, namely "the Global War on Terrorism" (GWOT). The latter, using a fabricated pretext constitutes a global war against all those who oppose US hegemony. A modern form of slavery, instrumented through militarization and the "free market" has unfolded.…The US has established its control over 191 governments which are members of the United Nations. The conquest, occupation and/or otherwise supervision of these various regions of the World is supported by an integrated network of military bases and installations which covers the entire Planet (Continents, Oceans and Outer Space). All this pertains to the workings of an extensive Empire, the exact dimensions of which are not always easy to ascertain….presence of US military personnel in 156 countries… The US Military has bases in 63 countries. The last 2 decades have seen the US shift its murderous attention to Muslim countries. The short-lived , US green-lighted Iraqi invasion of Kuwait provided the excuse for the devastation of Iraq by the Gulf War (1990-1991) and Sanctions (1990-2003) that were associated with 0.2 million violent Iraqi deaths, 1.7 million Iraqi avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation and 1.2 million under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to US Alliance war crimes of blockade and US, UK and covert Israeli bombing). However the post-9-11 invasion and occupation of Iraq has been associated with a further 1.5 million violent Iraqi deaths, a further 1.2 million Iraqi avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation, a further 0.8 million under-5 infant deaths and 5-6 million refugees.
The US war against Somalia has been proceeding since initial US invasion in 1992, was entrenched with the US-backed and US-supported Ethiopian invasion of Somalia in 2006 and has been associated with 0.3 million violent deaths, 1.8 million avoidable deaths from deprivation, 1.3 million under-5 infant deaths, and 2.0 million refugees. The ongoing Afghanistan War (2001; the “excuse” being the 9-11 atrocity that almost certainly involved US complicity; see “Experts: US did 9-11”: http://sites.google.com/site/expert... ) has so far been associated with 1.2 million violent deaths, 3.8 million avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation, 2.7 million under-5 infant deaths and 3-4 million refugees plus 2.5 million Pashtun refugees generated in NW Pakistan under Obama war policies. The US-backed Apartheid Israel’s Palestinian Genocide has been associated since 1967 so far with 12,000 violent deaths, 0.3 million avoidable deaths from occupation-imposed deprivation and 0.2 million under-5 infant deaths. Palestinian refugees now total over 7 million.
And that is not all. The US invaded Haiti in 2004 and kidnapped and exiled its first democratically elected leader, President Aristide. Post-invasion excess deaths in Occupied Haiti total about 240,000 and under-5 infant deaths total about 170,000 (UNICEF data). And the US is using robot drones to bomb the Yemen and Pakistan, the bombing increasing after 20 million Pakistanis were made homeless by huge floods.
The France-UK-US (FUKUS) Coalition has now been bombing once-prosperous Libya back to the Stone Age for several months with the inevitable “excuse”, in this instance “saving civilian lives from a mad dictator”. Under Libyan dictator Gaddafi infant mortality had fallen to 18 deaths per 1,000 births (cf 8 for the US) but is now set to rose to US-Occupied Afghanistan levels of circa 200 deaths of 1,000 births. In Libya it is reported that “As of July 1, 2011, Military casualties have not been officially released by the Libyan armed forces. In summary, the MOH [Ministry of Health] compilation documents that during the first 100 days of NATO targeting of civilians, 6121 were killed or injured. The statistical breakdown is as follows: 3093 men were injured and 668 were killed; Women killed number 260 and 1,318 injured; Children killed number 141 and 641 injured. In 2009 I answered the question posed by the anti-Vietnam War chant “Hey, hey, USA, how many kids did you kill today?” for the overseas American Empire under Obama. Today in mid-2011 the answer is about 1,500. Avoidable under-5 year old infant deaths in the Occupied Palestinian, Somalian, Iraqi, Afghan and Haitian Territories now total about 6 million as compared to 1.5 million Jewish children murdered by the Nazis inWW2. The Neocon American and Zionist Imperialists (NAZIs) have become the inheritors of genocidal Nazi German barbarity.
Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity. What can decent people do? Decent people must (a) inform everyone they can about the continuing US or US surrogate occupation, mass murder, mass pedocide, holocaust and genocide in the Occupied Palestinian, Somali, Haitian, Iraqi, and Afghan Territories, (b) demand Sanctions and political sidelining against the genocidal Neocon American and Zionist Imperialists (NAZIs), and (c) make 4 July Independence From America Day around the World.
