Why Sarah Palin Must Teach Congress To Read

When asked what newspapers she read, Sarah Palin answered, "Oh, I read them all." While it’s safe to assume that this was a disingenuous answer, it’s probably equally safe to assume that Palin can, in fact, read. 

This is a skill set that Sarah MUST teach congress because we learned yesterday that congress CANNOT READ AT ALL. 

When you look at the Bill of Rights you need look no further than the content after number one (that is to say: the very FIRST amendment) to discover that US citizens have a right to peaceably assemble and petition their representatives (president, congress, whoever) for a redress of grievances.

So how do we know that congress CANNOT read? They just passed a bill outlawing the right of citizens to engage in actions that have been guaranteed a free pass by the first amendment.

From further reading we know that only the people, through a referendum and successful vote, can change the rights (guaranteed) in the constitution. 

We haven’t done that, have we?

  • I’m wondering if they can read, speak intelligently, think past the end of their wallets, understand what it really means to be a "servant of the people?" Of course not! To top it off, I always thought she was stupid, but compared to the ones running for the republican ticket, she was actuallly brilliant, NOT!!!

  • Even before the Constitution was written, these words instructed Americans on how to respond to such tyranny.

    "....That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness......"

    and

    "....But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. ...."

    It’s time folks. If you vote D/R this time around, you deserve what you get. Change in government won’t come at the ballot box.
