The German people have been justly criticized for their failing to do anything to stop the Holocaust, with Jews disappearing off the streets of Nazi Germany to be killed while the Germans pretended not to notice. It has been one of the mysteries of history how the most civilized people on earth could have allowed the Holocaust to happen with nary a voice of opposition or complaint.

How does this differ from the remarkable lack of opposition in the United States to the war crimes being committed by American troops in Falluja and elsewhere (scroll down at this site to find most of the links of eyewitness reports of the horrors)? Actually, there is quite a bit of difference. Nazi Germany was a police state, and any opposition or even a hint of opposition would have been met with instant dire consequences. Despite the best efforts of John Ashcroft, the United States is still not a full-fledged police state (but they are working on it). Nazi Germany had a completely controlled media, and any information embarrassing to Hitler’s regime was simply not published. Despite the fact that the American media is disgustingly useless, Americans still have full awareness of what is going on in Falluja, largely because the Bush regime is quite proud of it. I once was impolite enough to ask some Germans in Germany who had lived through the Nazi period what they knew at the time about what was going on. They said they were very sorry about what had happened, but, although they had strong hints, they really didn’t know. Unless one is certain, what can an individual do in a police state when faced with hints of wrongdoing? Americans have no such excuse. The hypocrisy of Americans complaining about what is going on in Sudan while American troops are doing much worse in Iraq is amazing.

Some people think that Americans actually like killing Muslims. I have resisted this notion, but, given the complete lack of opposition to massive war crimes being committed against a largely civilian population for a crime which amounts to being insufficiently deferential to an illegal occupying army, I am changing my mind. The only possible reason which explains the attack on Falluja and the attitude of Americans towards it, is that Americans like to see dead Muslims. I think the American people owe the German people an apology. Unimaginable evil can happen anywhere, and with remarkable ease.

  • You might really want to broaden your horizons and not read so much left material. Then you can probably make a more thorough analysis on the situation which would mean that more people would have a reason to read your blog.

    • Why not post your own analysis, perhaps your own blog? I’m interested in what you have to say, except, "you should broaden your horizons".

Please share with us, where can we do that? We’ve been waiting for you to show us the light...or are you trying to shut the lights off? Why would you do that? Why don’t you share your knowledge? Why don’t you defend America and show the rest of the world what your talking about?

I guess we’ll never know why, because you don’t know either. No links for an alternate view, no intelligent thought, not even analysis. C’mon, if your going to pump disinfo, at least lead us to some more of it. Show us where you get your "right" view.

Sadly this is not an issue of "liberal vs. conservative", the left won’t teach you that, the right won’t teach you that. It’s time to be independent and escape the chains the liberals and the conservatives have placed on you.

The same could be said about what you said, "you read to much right wing drivel"...and that helps us how? Post something of merit, information, alternative analysis...or your just as weak as your claim.

This isn’t a flame, but a question about how you think? If you don’t agree at least back that up with something, anything, heck...post a link to dubya.com if you want. But do something instead of hanging out on an anti-war blog, waiting to be the first person to rebut anything that is against how you view the world. Don’t you have anything better to do? We do, that’s why this an anti-war forum. We’d love to debate, but you have nothing to debate, as such, your thoughts are as useless as the fingers that typed them.

Either that, or your part of the disinformation campaign....why else would someone sit around and wait to flame, for fun? In that case your just a troll, like any other troll.

So we’ve got a troll, a distractionist, or damage control plant in our midst.

Look alive people. They’re getting scared. The first sign is the infiltration, disruption, and division of unity, neutralize the enemy, that is what our government considers us free thinkers. They will try with trolls, disinfo campaigns, media, anything untill they have to make the final decision of total police power. Did you know that war crimes are punishable by death according to the 1996 federal war crimes act?

      Broaden that horizon.

    • Another blog? What for? The post was given as constructive criticism. What’s the matter you can’t take that? If so, then don’t bother doing a blog.

  • I think America is running into the same dark alley. The America of Bush has become a threat to
    the security of the world.
America never worked on their history! In American schoolbooks everything cruel, which was done
by the good doers is embellished in the same way you would think it’s done in a schoolbook for
    North Koreans!
The never apologized for the use of the nuclear bombs in Hiroshima/Nagasaki - Japan was already
defeated. Nor did they apologize for the cruelty done in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

With the Bush administration in for four more years the world is at the brink of a nuclear war.

    • You are the one who needs to brush up on their history. Why should we apologize to the japanese for the bombs, they attacked us first and they surrendered only after we dropped it on them...and we gave them plenty of warning. As for Vietnamese, Laos and Cambodia, you should thank your lefty friends, the commies. After the US pulled out, they made that whole region into one vast killing field. You are one stupid left lunatic.
