China Clipper...Too many coincidences:

1. Massive numbers of US manufacturing jobs go to China.

2. Massive amounts of multinational corporate assets and capital are invested in China.

3. Those same manufacturing capacities and ownership levels have left the US with far less up and able manufacturing capacity to support a protracted defense if international supply lines are cut.

4. The heads of those same multinationals now have billions of little green reasons to love China.

5. China is rapidly and continuously modernizing its military infrastructure and capabilities.

6. China is in unprecedented joint military maneuvers with Russia, historically an adversary of the United states and probably still pissed about the breakup of their empire.

7. China is in direct competition with the US for petroleum resources which the the US is still 98% or so dependent upon for everything, including its own defense.

8. China is experiencing growing desertification of large areas of its internal territory as outdated agricultural practices create dust-bowl symptoms that vastly dwarf the US problems of the 1930’s.

9. The current "leaders" of the US political regime have deep family ties to many of the same multinational corporations that have all those little green reasons to love China and all those legislative reasons to have to pay US workers a lot more than anyone in China dreams of.

10. Can anyone tell me if AD 2000 was the year of the rat?

  • Well that how it goes in a share holder driven society. Hope all you folks who depend on stocks as pension will have enough funds in the future.
I also think America’s economy comes pretty close to the point when an erroding manufacture base can no longer support enough service jobs. Moreover the engergy dependence of an importing economy like the American is striking.
The lack of knowledge power drives even the military industry into outsourcing. Boing/Northrop have thousands of Russian engineers employed also developement outsourced to Russia, Israel and even
    China.
Yeah, Chinese people think more traditional in long terms, but in the long run China is also vulnerable , because of it’s environmental hazards. Chinas production is very wasteful the need up to 3 times of material and resources, in order to create the same product as in countries like Germany or USA.

But their is also good news for American workers - their jobs will come back with less available cheap oil.
