9/11 Suspect David Boren to Host Bob Woodward of Washington Post

Today I sent this letter by U.S. Mail to Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, who will soon be hosted by former U.S. Senator David Boren, mentor and patron of George Tenet.

Dear Mr. Woodward:

The local newspapers are reporting that soon you will be hosted by Mr. Boren for a visit to the University of Oklahoma. I live in Norman, am an OU graduate, and have carefully observed Boren’s conduct (actually I would say misconduct) in public office over the years. I am encouraging you to act on your investigative reporter instincts, as you approach Boren, and would like to share some information with you.

In January 2002, you reported that Boren was in the company of George Tenet, his protege, in a Washington hotel, on the morning of the 9/11 attack. Indeed, the relationship between Boren and Tenet is very close, and Boren has been the senior partner. I would say that whatever blemishes are on Tenet’s record should be seen as the legacy of David Boren.

Tenet is being scrutinized right now for his incompetent performance leading up to 9/11. Boren deserves to come under this scrutiny with him, and has had many other ties to the CIA. You might not be aware, for example, that in the summer of 2001 Boren arranged for top CIA spook David Edger to be appointed as a "visiting professor" at OU. Earlier Edger had responsibility for CIA surveillance of the Hamburg Al Qaeda cell. It is my opinion that the Boren-Tenet-Edger trio was the inner circle of the CIA in 2001, and no investigation of the failures of American intelligence leading up to 9/11 can be complete without investigating them as a team.

I have done so, and shared my report with the 9/11 Commission, but they chose to sweep it under the rug. In their report they specifically lied at one point, when they claimed that there was "no evidence" of a meeting between Atta and Moussoui. I provided them with that evidence. It was reported by former State Department terrorism expert Larry Johnson on the O’Reilly show. I have the video (May 11, 2002). It was also reported in the LA Weekly (July 26, 2002).

More importantly, see my enclosed sworn affidavit, in which I tell what I know about a 9/11 hijacker’s plane ticket having been purchased from an OU library computer terminal. The FBI investigated this, but the purchaser was never arrested. This leads me to suspect that he was a CIA covert operative, and immunity was arranged for him. Without mentioning my suspicion along these lines, the event was reported by Oklahoma City’s KOCO TV, but the reporter who gve the broadcast later denied it.

David Boren is a very slippery fellow and has a talent for keeping his mischief from being exposed. His friend Jim Thompson was on the 9/11 Commission. Thompson is also a lobbyist for American Airlines, and Boren is on its board of directors.

Boren also has made a practice of currying favor with prominent journalists, like yourself. You are not the first to be hosted at an OU event. Boren is aware of what I have written about him online. He is very worried that some of the suspicions about Tenet will expand to include him. His goal in hosting you is to discourage you from investigating him. My goal in writing to you is to discourage you from being affected by his strategy.
