I had recently seen information related to this on a site about buying gold. It said that you had to list what was in your box, so you wouldn’t want to store your gold there. It said it was part of the patriot act. I tried to find it in the patriot act and gave up, not finding it.
I believe it was on http://www.assetstrategies.com/ somewhere in that web site and a reason to buy Australian Perth Gold Certificates.
I think I will stick with the real thing and will not be putting it any bank deposit box. Good to know that someone else has confirmed this info.
