Impressive Ian. Whoever you are, keep writing and thinking. Which brings me to the vague sense of incompleteness that I am left with after reading your essay. I don’t think I am an idealist or am wishful thinking when I say that the power of our imagination is our largest resource. That is what this country stands for ideally: set us free and we’ll find a solution, make things better. Your story focusses on lack of -material- resources and consequently fighting about them. We should start focussing seriously on experimenting with and being smart and imaginative with a resource starved environment. For that the government should do the exact opposite of what it is doing now.
