> From my home, I saw what the ’war on terror’ meant

One of the most exhaustive and well-articulated books regarding the history of the middle-east currently available, is Fisk’s "The Great War For Civilisation - The Conquest of The Middle East."
As a journalist, Robert is practically without parallel; his book is a thumping 1366 pages long, and although he tends to prevaricate a little too much about his father’s wartime experience, the remainder is gripping, educational and written with a profound sense of professionalism and objectivity. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
