After all when I write FUCK, or say SHIT, I am not making an oath, which is what swearing is technically speaking, I am expressing my dismay or RAGE. Neither am I asking some supernatural power to bestow some kind of payback against the object of my rage, which is what a curse is all about.
But back to point, no there is no such thing as a polite revolution. Even the Glorious Revolution of the late 17th Century that the English are rightfully proud of, since there was no bloodshed, had many a profane word uttered, shouted and written.
