> Bush, Torture and American Values in Iraq

That was about the most bias article I have ever read. The people who abused the Iraqi prisoners are losers of course, and they give a very bad example, but your article implies that the whole entire U.S. military is bad. I just think it is so ironic that so many people such as yourself think giving an oppressed people a chance for a better life is a bad thing. If you cared so much about the Iraqi people, where were your protests during the Kurd massacre and the slaughtering of the Shiites? Where is your outrage at the innocent Iraqis who are blown up by some Islamic militant with an explosive vest on?

Are you just on the popular bandwagon of hating the U.S.A.? I have found that people such as yourself offer no solutions...you just prefer to lash out at a people who take action.

Here’s a newflash....but torture is a necessary thing. You can’t ask evil people nicely about where the next terrorist attack will be. Sure no one wants to know about this going on, but torture happens and will continue to happen...as long as people’s lives depend on it. I’m pretty sure the French also employ torture to the Algerians or to the Al Qaeda people they capture. You can’t be nice when dealing with Islamic nut heads. However, the US soldiers who did hurt those soldiers were not gathering intelligence they were just being cruel, and they should and will be punished severely I hope. On the other hand, known leaders in my opinion should be tortured and made uncomfortable so we can save lives.

All I can say is that I think France is very hypocritical about the war. France claims to be a champion of human rights....but they wouldn’t send any aid to Iraqi to help the Iraqis. That’s odd don’t you think? Also France had huge economic dealings with Saddam, mainly oil, during his regime, while at the same time showing it cared nothing for the Iraqi people by protesting a dictator’s removal. How shameful France!!!

So I suggest instead of bashing Bush, which is just a symptom of France’s inability to contribute anything of value to our world, you get your head out of the sand and start helping people who need it....like the Iraqis.
