Is it really about religion?

2 September 2007, 14:56

First of all, the cultural relativism is a fallacy.

A. Double standards?

For example, you try to promote an equivalence between two different religions (they are different because of the differencies in history, content, dogma, practice, politics, etc.). Islam is not an abstract idea based upon the right to believe in, something without content nor consequences.

B. Is it really a religion ?

Unless you want to bound islam to some rites and celebrations common to all the people (harvest, marriage, funerals, birth, pilgrimage, etc.), the islam is a bit more than just a celebration. It’s a totalitarian political ideology with rigid rules and practice of institutional violence.

B. Hallal vs. Kosher.

The fact is the entire world has no dramatic problems with jewish religion. But we all are experiencing big problems with islam, aren’t we? Don’t say it’s due to a couple of bad guys, the "therrorists". The problems with islam is how the islamic world react on the modernity.
