Interesting article!! It seems in some ways humans can be treated worse than animals, in the sense that animals can have their pain and suffering ended (of course this decision has to be made by their "masters"), while humans cannot, not matter how much agony they are in.
And I agree with Hoffman: Animals have souls, and most of the time they have better souls than humans have.
