> George Bush won the popular vote- and pigs are flying

How are we safer? Can you please provide some data? Saying ’because we haven’t had an attack since 9/11 is a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy of logic. And thanks for welcoming us all to go to Canada. I for one don’t care what a faith-based illogical true believer thinks of me. And, frankly, I don’t see that the original writer actually ASKED you for your ’blessing.’ We have a 9.9 percent unemployment rate. Hate to inform you of this, but if you count the unemployed who have fallen off the roster due to time limits, it’s around 10 percent.

To the original poster — it’s people like the one above who contribute to the problem. With no handle on the facts and no data to offer, they’re still ever so certain their ’beliefs’ are correct. Whereas the rest of us maintain healthy skepticism, both in our system and in our own questions. We ask them, but we allow for, and embrace, the potential that we could be proven wrong. On this issue, for the sake of our electorate and ALL OF OUR democracy, these questions need to be addressed. We need paper trails or we need to revert to punch cards. We need to get partisans out of the election boards. I cannot fathom how people who crow about their "patriotism" are comfortable with evoting machines that can’t be verified. How does that benefit anyone?
