Yes, I’ve heard of Rome. Been there. It’s still there. The political entity which ruled the Holy Roman Empire during its 7th century decline is still the most powerful political organization on the planet. It’s called the Catholic Church. They have had a pretty good run, I’d say. I expect that democracy, invented in America, will probably have as good a run.
