> Kerry clutches to hopes of recount victory

28 November 2004, 07:33

Colin Powell stated 2 days ago in regard to the Ukrainian elections, “We cannot accept this result as legitimate because it does not meet INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS and because there has not been an investigation of the numerous and credible reports of fraud and abuse.”

After looking up OSCE international standards of participating states (which includes the US), it appears that our Nov. 2nd, 2004 elections did not not comply with OSCE commitments and principles for a Democratic election either.

See website: http://www.osce.org/documents/odihr/2003/10/772_en.pdf [Sections 9.2, 9.3, 9.6, 10.3, 10.4, 11.1, etc.]

Does Colin Powell also believe that based on the numerous and credible reports of fraud and abuse in the American election, it should be fully investigated before the results can be accepted as legitimate?

America cannot convince the Ukrainian leadership, the Iraqis, the Afghanistanis or any other country to have fair, accurate, Democratic elections if we do not have them here in the USA. It would be total hypocrisy!!
