We all obviously need more information to determine whether this was a suicide or not. When coroners come out with a "suicide" conclusion before an adequate investigation you have to be suspicious though. The only thing that might make a non-suicidal person take his own life is if his own family is being threatened with harm if he doesn’t. The mafia used to allow its members to off themselves as a sign of respect, instead of assassinating them for breaking its rules.
Also, an intelligent human being like Gary Webb would be less likely to take his own life. What is important here are the plans that Webb had in motion when he died, possibly indicating that he had alot going for himself and certainly had no reason to kill himself. With strange men climbing on pipes outside his house this case deserves to be investigated to the fullest!
