Madrid Fire Re-opens 9/11 Questions: Why did the twin towers fall so fast?

14 April 2007, 01:55

Did anyone see the interview of the lead structural engineer who designed the WTCs? It was very interesting. Oh, I almost forgot, the WTCs collapsed in a manner consistent with how the WTCs were designed. Each floor truss was held in place by two 5/8-inch diameter bolts at each end and the fire proofing material was blown off the trusses by the airplane’s impact. Trusses sagged under the heat and the bolted connections failed. I know this isn’t as juicy as a controlled demolition but truth is often stranger than fiction especially when non-engineers try to explain a a structural failure. Get a life.
