I have flown on many occasion and even if I were the only passenger aboard a flight I am certain that a few people wielding box cutters (as they say)could have me remain in my seat and allow them to overtake the plane let alone 40 american passengers. I personaly do not know one indavidual who would just sit there and allow this to happen not one. Just a thought I am not a structual engineer or a aerospace load engineer or anything like that but I am a United States citizen and I would be damned if I would go out like that and I don’t think anybody else would either.
