> BOYCOTT 911truth.org’s bogus march on 9/11

26 August 2005, 01:10

Dear Nico

Having followed with interest (obviously) the activities of the 9/11 truth movement in the US this was MY response to your article on our forum in the UK. By comparison with the US our network is small and ameteurish, but we are growing and getting more ’professional’ and who knows our approach may have lessons for the US. Believe me, we have the same ’diversity of opinions’ in the UK as you have in the US.

Best wishes

Ian

This relates to Nico H’s article below slating the people behind the http://www.summeroftruth.org/ events this coming 9/11 as 9/11 gatekeepers and disinfo agents.

Now in relation to these opinions my advice is make your own minds up. It is precisely because these divsions, suspicions, allegations and counter allegations have arisen in the US that we are trying to find a different path.

Let’s face it we will never get full disclosure and accountability from either Bliar or Bush without massive public support and the key to winning that public support is first and foremost public awareness of the facts and evidence out there.

And the key to building public awareness is trusting grassroots activists to speak their own truth and to use the resources (books, dvds, articles, etc) they find most effective in spreading the word.

That is why this network has NO spokes people and why we do not endorse any one position. Anyone can speak in support of the campaign but not FOR the campaign. If we are approached by the media (as we have been occasionally) to put forward people to speak in support of the campaign, we are pleased to do so and obviously we tend to towards recommending those who appear to be the most knowledgeable, credible and articulate.

But anyone doing so speaks in a PERSONAL capacity. Similarly local groups and individual activists are obviously free to approach the media or politicians and speak in support of the campaign and this is whole heartedly encouraged

This approach will hopefully avoid some of the problems the movement in the US has suffered from. We have no need to debate endlessly whether we are LIHOP or MIHOP, whether we are pod people or non-pod people, whether such and such a person is batting for the other side, whether there were any islamic hijackers, etc. We have no need to reach a central ’party line’ and endlessly police ourselves to check if we are ’on message’. We have to trust ourselves and the wider public with the intelligence to think for ourselves.

Indeed any other approach (unless we are particularly lucky or wise) is bound to failure, since as soon as you try and control such a movement you will end up with internal squabbles, power/ego struggles and in-fighting.

At the end of the day (without actually endorsing them obviously) people like DRG and Webster Tarpley to name 2 have given us all the evidence and amunition we need to make our case. The centre of this network need do v little other than act as a means for grassroots activists to connect with each other, set up their own groups and activities and spread the word.
