> New Orleans tragedy: The 17th street levee was bombed

19 February 2006, 20:45

It is ridiculous to even think some folks or areas should have been targeted to save a few others. A local news station quoted a census report that 80% of the Katrina victims were employed, had businesses, worked, were retired and/or owned their own homes. Not to mention those victims with college degrees. Stereotypical ignorance has no value when so many people are displaced and too many lives lost and destroyed. This Administration (from the white house to the out house) has failed these people. Friendship and favoritism does not and should not have allowed incompetent individuals to head an organization which required logical thinking, experience and the ability to perform the duties of the job. Thousands of mobile homes are sitting on a lot in Arkansas at a cost of $25,000 per month to tax payers, in addition to the cost of these homes. Why haven’t these home been sent to Katrina victims? My tax dollars are involved here and I hate waste in any form.

It appears that common sense is not common after all.
