My my, there certainly are a lot of mean-spirited and insulting posts here - much name-calling, to be sure. Katrina brought to the forefront everything that is wrong within our country and culture; and clearly people have very strong opinions about it. This isn’t all about a one-time event - it is about an ongoing crisis in our country.
First of all, let me start by saying that I am a well-educated, middle-class white woman, living in Michigan. (As an aside, I happened upon this site because I was searching for the location of the 17th Street Levee; I wanted to see if it was near the house of an acquaintance with whom I had lost contact. I wanted to determine if his house on Lake Pontchartrain could have been destroyed.) I work in the automotive industry in project management, and, as many of you may know, the automotive industry is suffering; consequently, I have been laid off numerous times. There were times in which I could barely afford to buy food for my daughter and me. I also lost my house as a result of being unemployed and unable to find work (Michigan has the highest foreclosure rate in the country - 2 1/2 times the national average). I am back at work in automotive, but, due to the instability, I intend to move out of Michigan and find a career in a different field.
The reason I mention all of the above is two-fold:
1) to illustrate that hard times in which we need to depend upon the government can befall nearly anyone.
2) to also point out some of the activities behind the scenes which are designed to decimate the lower and middle classes. What I am referring to specifically has already been mentioned by many on this site: the Illuminati, the New World Order, the Global Elite, the Bilderberger, the Carlyle Group - the list goes on. I am pleased to see that many are aware of this, but many more need to be alerted. However, I fear that our country may be too far gone to be saved. The Powers That Be in Washington are all deeply enmeshed in these groups. Does anyone know that Rumsfeld owns millions of dollars of stock in a company called Gilead Sciences, which developed Tamiflu and then sold the rights to Roche? Roche pays Gilead a royalty on every tablet sold. Do you think the Avian Flu (which magically appeared out of nowhere) may have been engineered somehow by the Global Elite to both line their pockets and wipe out populations? What about AIDS - do you really think it jumped from a monkey to a human? Do you also know that Rumsfeld single-handedly championed and forced the FDA to approve Aspartame after they’d first denounced it? He was well aware of the negative FDA reports on it at the time, as well as the suppressed private research reports. But, apparently, he had stock in the main company making Aspartame. An example of poisoning for profit. There are many other such examples: MSG, fluoride, formaldehyde, Splenda. And, of course, we’re all familiar with the Dubai debacle. Why do you suppose Bush was so insistent upon the deal? How about this: "Investors from the United Arab Emirates helped fund the $23 million Neil Bush raised for Ignite!, the learning systems company that holds lucrative ’No Child Left Behind Act’ contracts in Florida and Texas." Every Bush on the planet, and some former politicians like Gore and the Clintons, travel over to the UAE for the express purpose of sucking up to them. By the way, Gore and the Clintons are part of the Global Elite, as well. Cecil Rhodes, the gentleman who funded the Rhodes scholarship (Bill Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar), was the first leader of the Round Table, a British-based secret society and part of the Illuminati. Rhodes Scholars are indoctrinated into the ways of the Illuminati and most have become leaders in the arenas of finance, government, military, industry, etc.
It all goes on and on. Just doing some research on the internet will serve to enlighten you - of course, you have to weave your way through the crackpots and crazies.
