New Orleans tragedy: The 17th street levee was bombed

29 August 2008, 12:29, by melissa mckenzie

when I went to new Orleans in August of ‘07 our bus driver(on the tour) took us to his neighborhood which was the ninth ward which was still in totally wreckage. He told us his heartfelt story, he lost his parents and son in the hurricane. He told us how they sacrificed his neighborhood for the one’s with the lawyers and doctors and the “valuable” neighborhood. He said I know people may have told you the levees breached but not here they blew up the levee. I thought how can a person choose whether to kill or save a neighborhood, the ninth ward wouldn’t have been that bad if it wasn’t for that.
