> Rumsfeld Refuses To Pay Back Military Families For Lifesaving Body Armor

2 October 2005, 05:31

Last year I spent about $1,000. for body armor for my son, who is in the Oregon National
Guard. His unit thought they were being sent to Iraq. I bought the armor on Ebay.
About three weeks later, two DoD CID agents appeared at my front door, and demanded the
armor. They said felons couldn’t own body armor. I told them I was not a felon. They said they
knew that, but the person selling the armor, a soldier in California, had stolen it. They took the
armor. I have no idea if what they said was true or not, but I do know that I borrowed the money
to purchase the armor, and now am paying for it.
My son was not sent to Iraq, but if he is, I can’t afford to buy him armor now. I don’t know if
the armor was stolen or not, as I don’t believe anything the government says anymore.

A Sad Dad in Oklahoma.
