Good post. Telling it like it is, is not popular with Republicans who support all of the neocon aggressive stealth and preemption of the Bush crew. Bush has been successful in uniting avid fundamentalists by promising them to unite church and state. Bush has been successful in attracting big money by promising corporations unlimited profits and access of all government contracts. Bush has been successful in making Congress an adjunct of his oval Office by promising Republicans unlimited power and ample rewards. And you are right, Bush and neocons want to invade Syria and Iran whenever they get enough soldiers free from Iraq to do it. That is why Condi Rice goes around to countries threatening them constantly, just waiting for an excuse to declare war...any excuse, even if she has to manufacture it, like She and Bush did for Iraq. Their strategy suckered the entire country. Now finally more than half the country no longer believes their lies...but the Republicans vote solidly to back any stupidity Bush proposes, including the "stay the course" which refers to a course that was never set, is failing, and is manufacturing revenge from Muslim patriots that someday will bite Bush in the rump. But he will insist that is because they hate democracy and freedom, which, incidentally, he has befouled and dirtied those words with his hatred, death and destruction.
