Home > EU Class War Goes Hot in Italy
Welfare Minister Signora Fornero and unelected Italian leader Mario Monti announce austerity "sacrifice," "shared" among Italy’s elderly, who will see their pensions cut. Workers may not retire until age 66 and will have to pay longer to get the same benefits. The wealthy were spared any tax increase whatsoever.
To bankers like Monti, misery imposed on the poor is laughable, as is sympathy.
