Government Of The Ignorant, By The Ignorant And For The Ignorant

Emily, who sends me emails when she gets upset over something I write (which is often) didn’t care much for Monday’s column calling President Bush and those who follow him idiots.

“You have to be the most arrogant, self-centered, smug, overbearing bastard on the Internet,” she wrote.

Sorry Emily but you’re wrong. My parents were married when I was born. But four out of five ain’t bad.

To paraphrase a favorite of right-wing extremists, the late Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona, arrogance in defense of liberty is no vice.

At least Emily signs her name. Most of the riff-raff that send messages over the electronic transom of this web site hide behind anonymous “handles” or use questionable names like “A True American.” Probably best that they hide their identities, given the high number of grammatical errors and misspellings that appear in most of the missives. Guess the ability to string together words into a simple declarative sentence wasn’t taught at their school.

I’m not surprised when the unwashed masses get bent out of shape every time I dare suggest that George W. Bush is not the saint they genuflect to on a daily basis. Ignorance loves company and only the truly ignorant can think Bush is anything more than proof that a functioning brain is not a requirement to be President of the United States.

But if you apply the laws of cause and effect, Bush is the perfect idiot to lead a legion of idiots. A new poll released Monday shows a majority of Americans now believe Bush knowingly lied to the American people, Congress and the world to justify his illegal invasion of Iraq. Even more believe he has mishandled the war. Yet a dysfunctional minority continues to sing his praises and embrace the outdated notion that America has the right to wage war on whomever it pleases whenever it wants.

Had Bush not been a coward who sat out the Vietnam War in the stateside safety of the Texas Air Guard he might have learned something from our mistakes there. But Dubya is a cardboard cowboy, a prehistoric throwback who’s all swagger and no substance. He leads an equally substance-starved party that feels the Constitution is expendable if it gets in the way of an extremist right-wing agenda.

No wonder rational Americans are turning away from Bush and the GOP in droves. Even some rational members of the party of the elephant have begun to question the antics of their President and realize this fool is leading them into a political abyss.

Democrats, of course, claim they knew this all along and say things would be so much better if one of their own lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and they controlled Congress.

That’s a crock. Democrats, like Republicans, put the interests of their party above that of the nation. The name of the game is power and control and those who subscribe to the holy grail of politics don’t give a damn about the people they have sworn to serve.

John Kerry and most of his fellow Democrats in Congress voted to support Bush’s dirty little war in Iraq. They now claim they were misled but - as elected officials - they should have demanded more proof before giving someone like Bush a license to kill.

The spreading cancer that threatens to destroy this country cannot be stopped by replacing one band of political crooks with another. Partisans who blindly follow their leaders and party dogma are the problem. They give us flawed leaders like George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The answer lies not in replacing one scoundrel with another. The system is flawed, corrupt and beyond redemption. It must be changed and that change can come only from radical, revolutionary action,

Sadly, a nation divided by bitter, partisan debate cannot correct itself. Until we learn to be Americans first and forget about the pettiness of political philosophies we can not - and will not - change.

  • I can only agree.

The idea of having Democrats come back into power is more horrific than the present crowd.

At least people are waking up now.

In actuality there is no redemption for the present system

The inbreeding of two parties which in reality are the same is a sickness that cannot be cured.

    So what will it take?

    Economic collapse.

I see that as the only way out of America’s stranglehold.

Never forget it was the Supreme Court who appointed these who are now in power.

The Supreme Court has as much responsibility in this as anyone.

All those who voted to stop the vote count in Flordia need to be impeached.

So who can do the impreaching?

    There is no solution.

Economic collapse and mass disturbance will bring totalitarianism.

(And this is creeping around us as we speak)

Or it will bring what is happening in Iraq to America.

It will bring bloodshed on the street, ever more violence and the eruption of civil war.

(Could karma be so accurate? - in the same lifetime?)

There is a political solution and it is called a Constitutional Convention.

WHERE EVERYTHING IS LAID ON THE TABLE.

    AND EVERYTHING CAN BE CHANGED

But who will trust his fellow to bring that about?

    • A political convention is a legacy and pase thing. It is only another creed of words that any good money changer could easily circumvent. Just like they did in Russia, in China, in IRan, Iraq, anywhere money flows propaganda and greed grows. Its like a psychic tree of life. If we feed it by believing it is true and the best and only system that could be and we only want to do that and we paint ourselves into a psychologcial cornner then we reduce ourselves to impulse creatures as the greed bankers would love. A global war of a multicultural group of slaves all around the world all made to believe conflicting religions, ideals, and cultures while the wicker money changers, corporations, and leaches sit back and laugh at our stupid behavior. Perhaps if we decide to take responsiblity for a better way of life and to support the life support of others in an open commuincation system, we could most definitaly defeat the "fear and terror" campaign and will get peace and justice and anything else we want that we are willing to work toward by letting go of all the lies we have been taught in religion, politicals, money, and interpersonal human relations.

We can only evolve into what we can act on and if we act on what we need and really want and do that with others in mind, we will overcome the "death dealers" and their stupid self inflicted mind control of their money system will rule the world bullshit. Come on folks its just pieces of paper with pictures on it. Is that all that stands between you and a better world? Really think about it..

  • And yet in all this one factor is common and superior. That is the factor of money and the influence of it as such. The system and the structure of heirarchy of power and thus wealth which is a direct mapping to the appartent and actual power that an individual can have. In a system whose roots are in the very land and region we are currently attacking, Iraq, was the place where the first city states and money changing religions grew up complete with token offerings to temple prostitutes, collective token grain storage, educational systems based on the religious and money teaching, these things indoctrinated us into a culture of economic development and we held up to ourselves our god of greed and domination for the sake of building more and more city states with taxable economies, and religious structures which supported the ideas of submission to the slave classes as we dominated more indiginous regions, passing the ideas of guilt and sin against our god which only lives in temples built in cities and in places where are money changing is carried on. That is why in no money more spiritually advanced cultures we have no such psychologcial structures of token trading, human valuation seperation into classes of non working religious leaders and intellectuals vs working and taxed purchasing classes which whose economic wealth is transfered to the smaller control class of mostly lie and deception based leaders all dressing in their fancy garb spiting their fear propaganda of G*d telling you that if your indiginous culture or independent thinking of persoanal inedtitiy does not conform to our system then you are an unbelievers and you know what happened to those that did not submit to the dominant money changing religious class. They were liquidated. It is the same today. Our people are being filled with the fear of the unknown killer that could strike at any time if you do not submit to the will of the exploitive slave trading money changers, just as it was in the time of any of the great spiritual prophets any trying to bring truth and unity wear all terminated because such psychologcial beliefs build up self confidence and that inspires independent thought, and that spawns the will to map psychologcial structures around facts and behaviors as such follow that are logical and reasonable. On the other hand if the "terror" is making you afraid then your mind could become frozen and not act if you allow the psychic power of the suggestions of fear and power to overwhelm you. And when that happens you become a slave. Want freedom and peace, don’t follow blindly and educate your mind to operate on facts and a plan of postivie action and do not allow fear to discourage your behavior and understand that this fear when it arrives is designed to make you submit and loose your own power of identity and self confidence and to overcome that bind up together with others in this truth, and you shall overcome any mindless agenda of greed and psychic domination.

    peace out 7b
